In the heart of Burgundy between Auxerre, Chablis, Avallon and Vezelay lies the picturesque town of Vermenton. The apartment is part of our beautiful manoir situated in the centre of the town with good rail links to Avallon, Auxerre, and Paris The apartment has a lounge with double bed settee and fully equipped kitchen on the ground floor, on the 1st floor a bedroom with double bed and en-suite shower room, WC and washbasin. Please Note: The area over the bed slopes from 170cms down to 110 cms (at the bed head). Besides a small private courtyard with table and chairs in front of the apartment, you also have access to our B&B public rooms in the main house, including large private courtyard with BBQ, sun loungers, table tennis, a lovely conservatory and salon. Bikes and canoes available for use at your own risk. The main house is run as a B&B and therefore you will have the opportunity of meeting other guests from all over the world. We live on the premises and therefore can assist with any enquiries during your stay. Vermenton has good facilities, a large supermarket, bakers, butcher, banks, medical centre, hairdressers, pharmacie and florists. There are two beautiful parks, one has a beach with good access for clean river swimming. There is also a port for canal boats and a railway station for trains going south to Avallon and north to Auxerre, Sens and Paris. There are a number of beautiful and varied scenic circular walks from our own doorstep taking in the Cure and Yonne rivers, the Nivernais canal and the surrounding hills and valleys with a varied topology including vineyards, caves, woods and forests ,not forgetting ancient villages and towns steeped in history -all easily accessed ,predominantly via footpaths and farm tracks. Further a field, with the use of the Burgundy railway line passing through Vermenton (south to Avallon and north to Auxerre and beyond) we can recommend a wide variety of walks within a 25 km radius, which can be achieved without resorting to a car. The minimum stay is 2 nights, the rate is for two persons per night, their is an additional 'one off' supplement of 20E per additional person for towels & bedding. The rate does not include breakfast, this is available if required @ 7E per breakfast served in the main house dining room if ordered the evening before.
