Come and visit this hidden gem in continental Croatia. Experience the beauty of a few dozen waterfalls, untouched forests and beautiful sunsets. A combination of the peaceful surrounding forest and the continuous flow of the river Mrežnica create a natural harmony, perfect for relaxing, recharging your batteries. Ideal for families, with or without children, the rest you can see on the pictures: Villa Rustica is located 15 m from the river Mrežnica itself, in between two waterfalls, on a place where the river is suitable for swimming (Mrežnica is one of the cleanest rivers in Croatia, with the slowest current). The house itself is on two separate floors, amounting to 150 square meters. The upper apartment has a bathroom, two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen, also an atelier where you can eat whilst observing the relaxing waterfalls. Furthermore there is a beautiful balcony which is perfect for the warm and sumny days. The lower part of the house is organized around the standalone BBQ area, Šporka kužina* and a pool. Also, a downstairs apartment with small kitchen and fully equipped bathroom. offering comlete privacy from the upper floor. The entire Villa is surrounded by a 2 m tall green wall, so privacy is guaranteed. Šporka kužina – (lit. tr. Dirty kitchen) this is a Dalmatian concept of having a fully equipped outside kitchen with a BBQ.3 Near the house there is a train track with the nearest train station being only 3 km away. It is a 5 min walk to the local store, restaurant, tennis court, children play area and football pitch. The nearest city, Duga Resa, which has a hospital, pharmacy and a large supermarket is a 10 min car ride away. Karlovac is the biggest city in the region, and is a 15 min car ride away. It is known for its transitional location which makes it a perfect starting point for exploring the whole of Croatia. From there, you can explore various national parks such as; Plitvice, Rastoke, Krka, Velebit, or even take a short trip to the seaside. Also if you’re into sports, there are kilometers of bike tracks along the river, we have two canoes (available for use) which are the best way to explore the river. For those who are more enthusiastic, there is an option of organised rafting, also with a partnering agency.
