Dog friendly in tranquil Gweek. Views to boatyard.
This modern property is located on a quiet road with views overlooking the historic Gweek Boatyard on the Helford River. A short drive to many beautiful locations including local beaches, the historic port of Porthleven, the renowned gardens of Glendurgan and Trebah and Lizard Peninsula. Three bedrooms and a family bathroom. Separate kitchen. Dining area in living room with woodburning stove and wooden floor. Decking area in garden. Off-road parking. Good wifi. Small/medium sized dogs welcome. The property has a large living/dining area, a utility room, a bathroom with bath and shower and three bedrooms, two of which have great views over the historic boatyard in Gweek and the ancient woodland along Gweek Drive on the Helford River. Parking can be on the road or off-road on the drive. Guests will have access to the whole property, apart from the garage. I will be available via email during Guests stay but our cleaner/property manager, Kate Duncan, Cornish Custom Cleans will also be available on to assist with any queries. Gweek is an attractive little village in the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Helford River. It is a quiet neighbourhood but enjoys a local pub, a small shop and Gweek Classic Boatyard with its cafe open to visitors. It is also home to the Cornwall Seal Sanctuary. Gweek is located about 5 miles from the nearest town of Helston. A car will be required, although a bus service does pass through the village. Parking for the property is best on the road outside the property - that's what we do as there is always space. Guests are welcome to park on the drive but care is needed as it is steep and the pavement level is high, so low-level vehicles need to take care, in order to avoid any potential damage to the underside of their vehicle. The heating for the property is twofold - night storage heaters and a woodburning stove. Once the stove is lit, there is little need for additional heating in warmer months as the property is very well insulated. That said, the night storage heaters provide good heating in cooler months. Turn them off at the switch on the wall if you don't want them to come on the following day. There is also an electric heater in the kitchen to warm up that space should it be needed.
