Glengarriff is renowned for its rugged natural beauty; its sheltered natural harbour with fabulous views of Bantry Bay, lush temperate oak woodland and meandering river; alongside the stunning backdrop of the Caha mountains. It is the perfect base for all kinds of outdoor activities in the immediate vicinity, or for trips further afield, including west to the Beara peninsula, north to Kenmare and Killarney, or south, to the Sheep's head and Mizen peninsulas and the west Cork islands. The village itself is a lively tourist destination with numerous bars, cafes, shops and boutiques and the house is centrally located within walking distance of all amenities. 5 mins walk to the Blue Pool and ferries to Garnish Island, 12 mins walk to the renowned Glengarriff Woods Nature Reserve, with walking and hiking trails for all ages and abilities. Additional local attractions include the Ewe Sculpture Garden, the Bamboo Park and Glengarriff Golf Course. Within driving distance are the market towns of Bantry (17km) and Kenmare (27km), Barley lake and the Caha Mountains. Glengarriff is also the starting point for tours of the Beara Peninsula, which is studded with fabulous scenery, thriving art and craft galleries, fine food and fabulous gardens.
