Priston (nr Bath) - double room/private bath

A cosy double room in an attractive, recently renovated period property in the heart of the rural village of Priston, only 5 miles from Bath. The bed has a generously-sized feather duvet, while the room has a wardrobe, tea/coffee-making facilities and a view down through the village. Guests have access to an adjacent private bath/shower room. Perfect for tourists visiting Bath, walkers and guests at Priston Mill weddings. Continental breakfast included. FLEXIBLE CHECK-IN ON REQUEST. The main part of the house was built in 1754 and was a pub from 1874 until 1966 - the original pub sign is on display in our entrance hall. Walkers will welcome the opportunity to dry their walking gear next to our AGA overnight. High speed WiFi available. Off street parking available on request. The kitchen is not available for use but continental breakfast is provided up until 9.15am- this might be a ‘take-away’ if mid-week. You will be staying in a busy family home with 2 working adults and 3 teenagers. We will happily stop to chat and offer advice when we can! Priston is a charming village with its own pub, church and village hall - but no shop, nearest supermarkets are in Tunley (Co-op) or on the edge of Bath (Sainsburys) which are both about 10mins drive away. There is a cafe in the village hall on Saturday mornings and church services on Sundays. The Ring O Bells pub, which is 100m up the road from us, has a very good reputation for food (booking recommended) as well as being a welcoming place to have a drink or to play a game of skittles in its own alley. On warmer days you can enjoy a drink on the village green in front of the pub; on colder days there is a lovely open fire. Easy access to Bath (15-20mins by car) and a host of beautiful country walks. 30mins+ into the city of Bristol. We often travel into Bath and might be able to give you a lift there or back on request or to the Park and Ride on the south side of the city (£5 fee one way). A local bus service offers a limited weekday service to Bath and further buses operate more frequently and at weekends to a stop on the main road, a 10 min walk from the village. Timetables available in the guest room. A Park and Ride facility operates on the edge of Bath, less than 10mins drive from the property. While we have high speed Wifi, mobile reception can be patchy. O2 works the best! The whole of our street has the same postcode so beware with the SatNav! Look for the white front door and slate house name plaque. Ideal if you are attending a wedding reception or event at Priston Mill - just 3mins minutes drive or 15mins walk out of the village. Flexible check-in available for wedding guests.
