On the ridge with views to the mountains, Muzzy Ridge Farm offers a relaxing respite. Three comfortable bedrooms available (two queens, one twin) with a 1930's inspired dairy kitchen and a wood burning cook stove. The newly constructed rooms are annexed to the sheep barn with its thirty friendly, four-legged inhabitants. A scenic drive to Belfast, Camden, and Mid-Coast Maine. This room has a queen bed and a private bathroom and is located on the lower level down the hall from the kitchen. New construction inspired by a 1930s dairy. Each of the 3 BRs is decorated in Maine country farmhouse style - from the painted wainscoting to the barn windows to the Restoration Hardware iron beds with down comforters. Muzzy Ridge Farm offers comfort in a quintessential New England setting. The Dairy Kitchen is where you will eat and relax by a wood burning cookstove and a cheese maker's sink. No worries - there's also a modern stove, electric kettle, french press for coffee, refrigerator and all you need for breakfast overlooking the sheep meadow. The Farm is here for you to explore. Our sheep are friendly, picturesque and chatty. Farm chores include feeding as well as milking and kitchen cheese making in season, for those interested. Elizabeth, shepherdess, will greet you if she is home from work. If not Maggie, her sister, dog watcher, and sheep wrangler, will show you to your room and around the farm. Mid-Coast Maine is a magical place, the outdoors ripe for activity. In Winter, there's downhill and cross country skiing, tobogganing at the Snow Bowl in Camden, including the annual National Toboggan Championship, ice skating, pick-up hockey, and snow shoeing. The summer brings hiking Mt. Battie and Maiden's Cliff, climbing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming in the Penobscot Bay and Lake Megunticook, sailing, and fresh and salt water fishing. Culture - Bay Chamber concerts, live local music, contradances, Farnsworth Museum in Rockland, art galleries, maritime lore, antiques shops, charming book stores. Worldly events - The Camden Conference, Rockport Film Festival. Social life - Pubs, breweries, wineries, wonderful restaurants, seafood... or sit still and read a book in the orchard. Parking provided at the barn.. There are scenic country roads to explore by car or bicyle. Airports - Bangor, 1 hour . Portland, 2 hrs 30 min. Please noteCurrent proving is in effect until May 31st.
