Large comfy house with garden, spectacular views.
Situated just outside the village of Aberdaron, Afallon offers really sunny and comfortable accommodation in a substantial Victorian house, with a wonderful enclosed lawned garden and panoramic uninterrupted views right over the bay. Easy walking distance to the shops, cafés and bars in the village, as well as easy access to the mile-long sandy beach - wonderful safe bathing for children. The Welsh Coastal Path can be accessed direct from the gate, making it an ideal spot for walking groups. Afallon is very large. There are several common spaces where it is possible to get away and do one's own thing. There's a children's playroom (TV, DVD, toys puzzles and games), a sitting room (TV, DVD, open fire and piano), garden room ( views to die for, music player, peace and quiet), games room in the basement (pool table, table tennis, table football, seating for 8). Then there is the large enclosed lawned garden for football, cricket etc. The basement has been converted to accommodate a pool table/table tennis/table football, as well as a Boombuster music box (to stream music from your phone by Bluetooth). The beds are all comfortable, with a duvet and two pillows supplied for each. Bed linen and handtowels are provided, but not bath towels, unless by prior arrangement for a small cost. During winter months (1st October -31st March) fuel is charged at 50% of cost, by meter reading taken at the beginning and end of your stay. Visit Wales 4* grading Access to the house is via a key in a key safe beside the main front door. The number of this key safe will be given on confirmation of booking. All parts of the house are available to visitors. I don't live nearby, but I am always at the end of my phone if required. Aberdaron and the area surrounding it is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is rural, and the views are spectacular from all around. The village is lively, with two pubs, 4 cafes, a bakery/coffee shop, plus shops selling food and little holiday items. The beach is easily accessible, sandy and safe for children. We are in a rural setting and so there is ample parking in most places, though in the summer time beaches can get busy. If you have a National Trust card, the parking is free in Aberdaron village and at local beaches that are owned by the National Trust. Please note our COVID-19 health and safety policy: Our aim is to protect not only our visitors, but also our housekeepers and members of the Aberdaron community, by taking extra measures as we come out of lockdown. We will constantly monitor and adjust our cleaning regime, as we continue to take the appropriate steps to ensure that safety remains our priority. Fuel charges apply during winter months 1st October to 31st March - 50% of cost, calculated by meter readings. The money to be left on the kitchen table when you leave, or by bank transfer (details supplied in the property). Please note that I don’t accept bookings for hen parties or stags, nor for groups of people under the age of 25.
