Welcome! Clean, quiet house, nr Mcr/L’pool/High St
A quiet, clean, modernised Victorian terrace just off Newton’s leafy High Street and a short walk from the train station, with regular trains to Manchester/Liverpool/Warrington. The location is perfect for leisure/business trips & nights out/events in Newton & surrounding areas. You'll be: 50 yards from Newton’s famous High Street. A few minutes’ drive from M6 J23, East Lancs & the A49 to Warrington A minute away from dog-friendly Mesnes Park & a shop Come & see all that NLW has to offer! My house is a traditional, Victorian mid-terrace, which has been fully modernised throughout, and now has a contemporary feel, whilst retaining original features. The guest bedroom is about 3x3m. It has a double divan bed with storage and can accommodate a child if needed, with a high-quality children’s memory foam floor mattress with sleeping bag - the office desk/chair folds away to accommodate this. There’s also a Smart TV, as well as lots of clothes storage and a mirror. It’s situated at the back of the property and is completely quiet at night, and has an internal lock fitted. Breakfast is included. There’s a large living room with wide-screen TV, modern kitchen with breakfast bar, and a downstairs bathroom. There is also a South-facing backyard with seats, which is a real sun trap when the weather’s nice. Guests can access and use all areas, including the backyard, freely, except the master bedroom. The guest bedroom is private and has an internal lock. The stairs are quite steep but there is a handrail. I also offer self check-in, and am flexible on timings. Guests are free to use any room in the house (excluding the master bedroom) as much as they like, and come and go as they please. I don’t mind if you need to get in late or leave early, please just be respectful of the neighbours with regards to making excessive noise. I work from home 3 days per week, from my home office in my bedroom. I'm sometimes around in the evenings but often out. I'm happy to socialise and also recommend bars/restaurants/walks etc but equally happy to just leave you to it if you prefer. Newton-le-Willows is a beautiful area. There is a great community spirit here and people tend to be really friendly. The High Street is trendy, tree-lined and cosmopolitan. There are a number of bars, pubs, restaurants, coffeeshops and independent shops to suit all tastes. It's also an ideal commuter town for Manchester, Liverpool and Warrington. I work in Manchester 2 days per week, and can be at any of the Manchester stations within 25-30 minutes, door-to-door, depending on which trains are running. My 'local’ is a wine bar named The Riddling Rack, which is really nice - it also serves food and coffee in the daytime. That's less than 30 seconds' walk away! ‘The Pier Bull’ is minutes away too - it does excellent pub food and has a huge, South-facing beer garden. Both are right in the High Street and shown in the listing. My house also benefits from being very near the large, leafy and dog-friendly Mesnes Park (complete with kids’ play area and outdoor gym) and a short walk from Willow Park, renowned for its views over the lake and wildlife. There are footpaths all over Newton and it's ideal for walking around. The town itself recently ranked second in the whole of the country in Rightmove's 'hot property' survey, and the town (especially the High Street area) has benefited from a lot of investment recently. Newton is also an historic town for railways - the main station is one of the oldest in the world and is situated on the world's oldest line: Manchester to Liverpool. The 'nine arches' viaduct is one of the largest and oldest of its kind and is situated on one of Newton's many walking routes. Newton is a few minutes' drive away from the M6, East Lancs and A49, and my house is 7-8 minutes' walk from the train station. The quickest train to Manchester is 17 minutes and Liverpool is 22 minutes. Some are longer based on availability. It's a great town for walkers too! There are two parks close by and numerous public footpaths, including the Newton Heritage trail, and the '9 arches' walk along the canal, which runs underneath one of the world's oldest railway viaducts. *If booking for the same night on a Monday and some Wednesdays/Thursdays, please be aware that check-in will need to be at 7pm or later, as I'll be returning from work.* I’m pretty easy-going in general and happy for you to cook here, watch TV in the lounge etc, and treat my house as your own home whilst you stay here. Other rules: Please be aware of making excessive noise late at night, as I have neighbours either side. Please keep shoes off the furniture and upstairs carpet. Please smoke outside the front/back door. Please always the lock front door when you go out, or if you’re in and I’m not. Any questions, please ask and I'll come back to you shortly. Thanks!
