A beautiful mountain Gite in the Hautes Pyrenees

Le Pigeonnier is a beautiful 3 star detached holiday gite in the Haute Pyrenean mountain village of Salechan. The gite sleeps eight people - four adults and four children - in two double-beds and a four-bed bed-room. It is within 25 mins of four skiing stations of different levels, is an ideal base for Cycling alongside the Garonne or over the Tour de France cols, for Walking, Fishing, Tennis, swimming in romantic fresh-water mountain lakes, Climbing, Canyoning and La Chasse/shooting. It is within easy reach of many historical attractions, a World Heritage Cathedral, Norman churches, Roman remains and prehistoric caves. The whole of the Gite is yours. The Gite lies on the land of our holiday home. So we are not always there but you will be in the good hands of Donna, a lovely lady who looks after the Gite, ensures it is perfectly ready for you and who will be able to answer all your questions. Salechan is a rural French mountain village in the foothills of the Pyrenees and is on the route of the Tour De France. It is close to two major Cols, the river Garonne, spa towns, natural lakes for wild swimming and a treetop adventure centre.The gite is set in the beautiful Hautes Pyrenees, 20 mins from the Spa town of Bagneres de Luchon, 1h20 drive from Toulouse-Blagnac airport and 1h from Lourdes Ideally you need a car in order to get around easily, whether that is to the local shops or to the mountain slopes and sights or to the concerts in local villages. That said, you can get a plane or train to Toulouse and then, via Montrejeau, get a coach right to the village of Salechan. But public transport services are not that frequent.
