Shades of Grey-Double Room-Twyford Train Station
A small double room with a comfortable double bed in the peaceful town of Twyford situated between Reading and Maidenhead. Ideal for the train commuter. The train station is a 2 minute walk away which provides convenient access to Henley-on-Thames, Reading, Oxford, Windsor & London. It also provides easy access to the A4/M4 without getting caught up in the inner city traffic. My reviews are saying it's "clean", "comfortable/comfortable bed" & "great location". Covid-Aware. Cleanliness has always been high on my priority list which can be seen from my past reviews. During these times you can be assured that your safety is being taken care of. The room has been recently re-furnished and decorated to provide a comfortable stay for the business traveller or weekend get-away for couples. In June 2018 a brand new bed was installed with a very comfortable Which? recommended mattress. The bedding is soft cotton sheets and duvet. Anti-allergy pillows and duvet are available so please request when booking. A built in closet has been converted to provide a comfortable desk workspace for those that need it as well as a space to hang clothing. Double USB plug sockets are available on both sides of the bed to charge your gadgets. Front door key supplied. Use of the kitchen, bathroom and lounge. For those with bicycles the shed which is locked can be used. There's no television in the bedroom. The TV is communal in the living room and I encourage social viewing. I find that most guests like their own space and keep themselves to themselves in their room. I understand that guests are staying for the room and not to be bothered by a host so that is fine. I'm a friendly guy who is quite used to hosting guests and I'm happy to help in anyway. If you want to chat or relax in the communal spaces then that is fine too. If you want want to do something more energetic then ask me about my karate classes or salsa. I'm here by myself most of the time although sometimes my girlfriend may visit. Twyford is a nice small town in the country. It has a large Waitrose supermarket, a small Tesco Express, 4 pubs, 3 Indian restaurants and a Thai and an Italian. There's also 2 Chinese take-aways and a Costa coffee. Very close to Twyford train station. Unfortunately this means that the available parking in the road can be quite tight first thing in the morning and late at night due to commuters. There's usually somewhere available but arriving during the day is a better bet. Breakfast - some eat it; some don't. With everyone's different expectations and tastes I've decided not to try to cover all the possibilities and keep the room price low. There's no reason to go hungry with all the shops and cafes in the town. Feel free to arrive with stuff that you want to refrigerate and make basic use of the kitchen facilities. Coffee and tea is always available and complimentary. The advantage of being so close to the train station also brings the disadvantage of some train noise. The train line is concealed at the bottom of an embankment at the end of the garden so I feel I must mention that some train traffic will be heard if you're not used to it. My place is a 2 level maisonette with access to my floor via a stairway. Unfortunately this means it may be unsuitable for some disabled guests.
