Castello di Tassara is 75 km from Milan,nestled on the Piacenza hills on the outskirts of the small village of Tassara. Recently restored and elegantly furnished,it offers 6 large rooms for 15 guests, large living rooms and common spaces. Guests can cook their own meals in the fully equipped guest kitchen with its portico outside.The beautifully kept garden and the infinity swimming pool are there for you to enjoy and relax. The lawns around are perfect for kids to play. All the beautiful lovingly furnished bedrooms are very large and airy, with high ceilings and exposed beams. All the bedrooms have large bathrooms. THE TOWER, 50 sqm (2 + 2 people) 2nd floor A two floor suite within the tower. On the first floor there is a large double bed with a comfortable spacious sitting area.The floor tiling is handmade terra cotta.On the upper level,with floors in wood and open on the lower floor, there are two single beds.The incredibly high ceilings with beams and the balcony add charm to the setting. CRISTINA, DOUBLE BEDROOM 35sqm (2 people) 2nd floor This bedroom with a king size double bed, waxed wood floors and exposed beamed ceiling, offers a spectacular view. Bathroom with both shower and bathtub. VIOLA, 2 SINGLE BEDROOM 30sqm ( 2 people) 2nd floor Two single beds (90 X 200 cm), exposed beam ceiling, wooden floor and magnificent view. Bathroom with shower within the bathtub. MARGHERITA, FOUR POSTED DOUBLE BEDDED ROOM 35sqm (2 people) 1st floor This cosy bedroom offers a four post double bed and an en suite bathroom with shower. BEATRICE, FOUR POSTED DOUBLE BEDDED ROOM AND ONE SINGLE BED (3 people) 1st floor A full breakfast buffet with extensive selection is served in the dining room or in the garden The living room with a tv lounge is available to guests. Outdoors there’s a large garden, lovingly kept and a swimming pool in stone offer the chance to play, enjoy and relax. The swimming pool,130 cm deep is at guest’s disposal until 6 pm with no supervision. The owner declines any responsibility regarding the use of the pool. The use of the fully equipped guest's kitchen is possible in the warm seasons. We have a laundry service for 10 euros up to 8kg of clothing Guests will be personally welcomed by the owner who lives in the castle and who will be happy to give all the informations requested The nearest villages with shops, supermarkets and pharmacy are 6/7 kms away and a car is essential. There are plenty of good trattorie nearby: some offer traditional local food, others more traditional italian cuisine. With a 20 minute drive you reach a one star Michelin restaurant ( reservation required).. At a 10 minute walking distance there are various wine where good Oltrepo and Piacenza wines can be purchased. Santa Maria della Versa, famous for the production of spumante is 7 kms away.Two golf courses, Croara e La Bastardina are nearby, respectively at 30 and 20 minute distance. In Pianello, 7 kms from Tassara there are tennis courts available. Only 75 kms from Milan and 40 kms from Piacenza, Tassara is a one hour drive distance from Linate Airport and an hour and a half from Malpensa Airport. The castle is just outside the village of Tassara, once a border town between the hills of Pavia and Piacenza, where taxes and custom duties were collected.The castle is at 500 meters over sea level on the hills at the beginning of Val Tidone.The view all the way to the Alps over the Padana plain is spectacular. Situated just before the Emilia Appenines you can explore one of the ancient Francigene Paths and many cultural, turistic and sport itineraries, besides getting a taste of really good food and wine. To go horseriding or bicycling along the lanes and paths, wandering around the area is a real pleasure. Scents, colours, wildlife , castles and ancient villages, where you are genuinely welcomed as guests, make the stay exceptionally fascinating..
