The Guesthouse

Beautiful guesthouse with private entry in lush gardens with natural swimming pool and with a stunning view over Mont Seny Mountain. Ideal for a couple or a family (2 parents and 3 kids) to enjoy the wonderful nature of Mont Seny and the nice village of Santa Maria Palautordera. Plenty of (water) toys are at your disposal in the big garage underneath the apartment. PLEASE NOTE: no fencing around the swimming pool. Parents must not leave their (small) children unattended around the pool! The Guesthouse is a self catered and private apartment next to La Casona. The big house will not be at your disposal during your stay but the gardens and the pool will be! It is a cozy little house very suitable for a romantic getaway for a couple, or a family with children. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do! The garden and swimming pool are at your disposal. The main house is mostly occupied by an elderly couple who are not using much of the garden and pool. Sometimes we are there ourselves with our children, leaving enough privacy for our guests. If the main house is rented out to someone else, the guesthouse is not available. You will be welcomed by our dear friend Xavi, who can also be booked for pick up and drop off from the airport for a friendly fee. Xavi is part of the village and has known the house since he was a child. In case of any inconvenience during your stay (for example a problem with the warm water) he is always there within a short time to make sure everything is running fine again. The Guesthouse is situated next to the village Santa Maria Palautordera overlooking the complete mountain of Mont Seny. This is a mesmerizing view. You can walk to the village through the fields to get your fresh bread in the morning or to have a drink in the afternoon on the local square. There are hardly any tourists, most people come from the village itself or from Barcelona. La Casona is located in the magnificent Mont Seny National Parc with beautiful nature and long walks that start right from the house. Less then 30 min by car there are plenty beaches, like Mataro, with easy car access. A five minute drive takes you to the train station from which every 30 minutes there is a train to barcelona centre (50 min) or barcelona airport (70 min). By car it is somewhat shorter. The beautiful city (and airport) of Girona is only a 30 minute drive away. We love this house dearly and would like to share it with people who can appreciate it and leave it in as good a condition (or even better!:-) than they found it. In the house you will find a handmade book with extensive suggestions for restaurants, hiking trails, local markets and other activities in and around the house.
