"La Madriguera" Chambres d'Hotes in rural France

Bed and Breakfast in the Charentais countryside, with access to the main D939 road. Just a five minute walk to a 33 metre outdoor pool and ten minutes by car to the busy little town of Villebois-Lavalette. Alternatively, take the bus into the centre of Angouleme, the nearest large town ... the bus stop is just a two minute walk from the house! Book the two rooms ... the price is the same! This is my home and I like to think that guests feel at home, too. The large garden is fenced in, with a barbecue terrace and garden furniture. Gardes le Pontaroux is my nearest village, with a little Restaurant at the roadside. "La Madriguera" is situated just outside the village, near the public swimming pool and a small Holiday village, in an area of historical interest, in a green belt area. I have just three sets of neighbours, all French and we all have an excellent relationship. Just a two minute walk from "La Madriguera" is the bus stop. Our local bus passes by twice a day, transporting passengers to Angoulême, in one direction and to Gurat, via Villebois-Lavalette, in the other. There is a tourist office in Villebois-Lavalette, just 5km from the house. You will also find all sorts of information and maps in the rooms. Just 25 minutes from La Madriguera is the city of Angouleme, famous for its annual events such as Cartoon Festival, Gastronomic Festival, Vintage and Classic car weekend in September, for example. Just a 40 minute drive is Aubeterre-Sur-Dronne, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Another breathtaking little town is Brantome, the Venice of the Perigord, just half an hour away. The magnificent chateau of La Rochefoucauld is just a 35 minute drive away and the fascinating chateau of La Mercerie is only ten minutes away. Even closer is the chateau of Villebois-Lavalette. Don't forget that there are plenty of markets to see, as well. Please note that "La Madriguera" is not self-catering, so should you require an evening meal upon arrival, why not book a table at "Halle Dente", the local pizzeria? Maria will give you the contact details and you are guaranteed a delicious, home-made meal. If you would like to be pampered, Maria will cook an evening meal for you instead.
