Bungalow by the River Amba

Bright and airy bungalow by a perennial river. A large hall that divides into 2 bedrooms with attached baths. A large verandah and a gazebo overlooking the river to hang out. The river's safe to swim in. Plenty of bird life and greenery around. The monsoon's here and it's the best time to visit. There are only about 25 bungalows in this property of over 200 acres. It's a lovely getaway a couple of hours from either Mumbai or Pune. The bungalow is situated on a one acre plot by the river - with direct access to the river. There are 2 king size beds + 2 cots. It's ideal for 2 couples + 2 children. Nothing's out of bounds except the owner's cottage, which is separate from the bungalow. Ramesh and Manohar, our caretakers, will be there to cook your meals and take care of your needs. Some weekends, we're there, too. You're in a rustic setting, surrounded by hundreds of trees a scant 2 hours out of the city. The river has water all through the year; you can go swimming or sit with your feet in the water and let the little fish give you a free pedicure. However, the river's not safe to swim in during the monsoons. The property is on the State Highway 92, the Pali-Khopoli road, about 22 km beyond Imagica. It's the right turn just after the first petrol pump you see. Cross the bridge over the river and immediately turn into the gate of the property on your left. Drive on the main internal road (no turnoffs) to get to our place. You need your own vehicle to get here. Parking on site's no problem. The power goes off sometimes but we have emergency lights. It might still be a good idea to carry your own torch. We filter and drink the water from our borewell but you might want to carry your bottled water. Most things you might need are available at Pedli village, 3 km from the gate. There are a couple of places to eat a few kilometers away, but Ramesh is an excellent and creative cook.
