Ralston house is homely, spacious and seconds from the picturesque uncrowded beach. Comfortable, private, located by the beach and historic Semaphore with 4 large bedrooms, lofty ceilings, spacious lounge-room, modern kitchen, air-conditioning & ocean views. Ideal for families, business travelers, & contractors. Minutes from the train station, cafe's, markets, playgrounds and historic hotels. Welcome to historic Ralston House. Ralston house (named after Captain Ralston) was built in 1880, and is the first house built in Largs Bay. Welcome and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you enjoy your time here. Ralston House Holiday Accommodation includes 4 large bedrooms, 2 with queen beds, 1 includes a queen bed and a single bed, and the fourth has two single beds, 6 beds in total, lounge/dining with ocean views, 1 bathroom, 2 toilets, fully equipped and modern kitchen, 2 televisions, and laundry facilities. Ralston House Holiday Accommodation is up one flight of stairs, there is chair lift to assist with the stairs. Note there is a further 9 internal stairs as the apartment is split level. The apartment is fully air-conditioned with a ducted system, a split system and a gas log fire heater. The three main bedrooms are 5 metres x 5 metres with 4 metre high ceilings, and all have built in wardrobes. The master includes a television and views of the ocean. The fourth bedroom includes two single beds. Free WiFi, all bed linen and towels are included in your booking. The kitchen is fully equipped and we provide complimentary eggs, bread, milk, tea/coffee etc. for your arrival. There are full laundry facilities. Ralston House is situated 50 metres from the picturesque Largs Bay Beach. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Largs Pier, one of the state’s first hotels. On the beach side is a beach kiosk and children’s playground. There is plenty of grassed space to kick a ball, and a stroll along the jetty is a must. Turn left and take a 10 minute walk to the pristine Semaphore beach. Highlights of the Semaphore foreshore include the Water slide park, the Fort Glanville miniature steam train rides during the warmer months, an historic carousel, the Summer Carnival and of course the beaches and jetty. There are also some great shops, cafes and restaurants on nearby Semaphore Road. The Foreshore Reserve is a large grassy area with ample room to run around and kick a ball. There is a fully fenced undercover playground next to the kiosk, a skate park, picnic and BBQ facilities and access to the beach and jetty. There are convenient beach-side showers and the path that runs along the foreshore is perfect for a leisurely coastal walk, running or riding bikes and scooters. If you walk along the path in front of The Palais that is nestled in the sand-dunes you’ll find another playground. Semaphore road also houses Drakes and IGA supermarkets. Nearby Attractions: Fishermen’s Wharf Markets Black Diamond Square, Port Adelaide, South Australia Perched next to the open sea, the Fishermen’s Wharf Markets is really reflective of its name by the bay docked full of boats with a vibrant buzz of life. Featuring an enormous indoor market with a vast variety of stalls, the market spreads over two huge levels and includes lifts and escalators for easy accessibility. Stalls provide something for everyone from home décor, bridal and fashion, sports, refreshments and even toys and collectables for the children. With its serene surroundings, you can watch the dolphins play in the water, relax with your favourite beverage or look around for a new favourite item. Opening Hours: 9am to 5pm Sundays & Monday Public Holidays How To Get There: Located right next to the Lighthouse at the end of Commercial Road, Port Adelaide, where there is parking available. Distance 3.5 kilometres. Adelaide City Centre Just 8 minutes’ walk to the the Largs Bay train station. The trains run to North Terrace in the city, ending under the Adelaide Casino. Just a short walk from there to the city centre, Adelaide Oval or the Rundle Mall, the city’s shopping precinct. Here’s a few suggestions for things to do: •Catch the train into town for shopping and the many hotels, clubs, Adelaide Oval and depending on the time of year one of the city’s many festivals. •Relax on the beach. •Check out the many hotels, restaurants and café’s on Semaphore Rd. •Take a short drive to the North Haven Marina (5 km’s) to sit on the deck with a Barossa Valley red or Adelaide Hills Chardonnay whilst overlooking the marina. •For the health conscious take a run along the foreshore bike /pedestrian path. •Check out the Fisherman’s Wharf Markets in Port Adelaide •Take the dolphin Port Adelaide harbour cruise •Visit the Port Adelaide Maritime Museum, National Railway Museum, or Aviation Museum. •Enjoy Pancakes on the Wharf at Port Adelaide. •Catch a movie at the local Odeon Cinema on Semaphore Rd. •Take a ride on the Semaphore steam train (weekends and school holidays). •Book into the Port Adelaide kayak tour .Hire a local Neuron scooter. The beach front has a walking and bike riding track that will take you north to the North Haven Marina, or south past Semaphore. There is a bus stop at the end of the street, or the Largs Bay train station 3 minutes driving time or about 8 minutes to walk there. if you have a car there is ample street parking available. Ralston House is approximately 20 minutes drive from the airport, 5 minutes walk to the Largs Pier hotel / function venue and 10 minutes walk to the Palais hotel / function venue.
