En Suite Grande is a large, bright, and airy retreat on the top floor of a newly renovated three-level townhome in SW DC. This five star bedroom with attached bath (with the Superhost hospitality to match), continues to be the premiere choice for guests relocating temporarily and permanently to DC. Whether this is your first time or your 50th time here, let me be the first to say, "Welcome and congrats on the opportunities that lie ahead!" En Suite Washingtonian really was made with you in mind. It is clean, quiet, comfortable yet stylish, and relaxing yet secured with a key lock - everything I'd want away from home and thus designed for you! BEDROOM Near the entry is a Roku-ready flat screen TV and gigabit WIFI. Just below it is a mid-century modern dresser for personal storage. The adjacent wall has a large closet that includes a clothes hamper, luggage racking, iron and ironing board, velvet hangers, and extra bedding and blankets - and the closet is still deep enough for you clothes, luggage and just about anything else! Just in front of the closet is my personal favorite - thr purple bench. It's small enough not to overcrowd the space and yet comfortable enough to lounge on to watch TV. Speaking of "in front of the closet" you have a deep blue bed with a plush 13" memory foam mattress and luxury bedding, a small dresser with a warm bedside lamp to your left and a slim, vertical workspace to your right. You workspace comes with a comfy aqua blue chair and has with plenty of space for you laptop and handheld devices. BATH The interior door opens into a large Jack and Jill bathroom, equipped with a tub and stand-up shower with an arched curtain rod and excellent water pressure, linen closet and storage under the vanity and a medicine cabinet behind the side mirror. As with the bedding, you have two sets of luxury bath towels. Your linen closet also has all your essentials - body wash, shampoo, conditioner, first aid kit, toilet paper, hair dryer and diffuser - including spray starch! You vanity includes antibacterial hand soap and disinfecting wipes, laundry detergent, bleach tabs, and cleaning tools and products. Guests have full use of the kitchen and living room and the private balcony on the main level. I can interact with guests as much or as little as preferred. Congress Heights is an up-and-coming SW DC neighborhood, near Joint Base Anacostia Boiling (3 Blocks), and the two major highways, I-295 (Two Blocks) & I-495 (.25 mi.). Major projects planned for redevelopment include the St. Elizabeths West Campus, the area surrounding the Congress Heights Metro station and Camp Simms. Metro Stations in NW Washington DC Blue Line - Eastern Market, Potomac Avenue, Stadium-Armory and Benning Road Green Line- Navy Yard-Ballpark, Anacostia and Congress Heights Southwest DC truly has something to offer for everyone. The Wharf is truly the must-see attraction in Southwest, the newly developed waterfront community that is home to the renowned Fish Market (which has awesome seafood), hotels, retail, and restaurants for whatever you're in mood for. Into more artsy stuff? There's The Anthem/Pearl Street Warehouse, The SW Art Club, and St. Dominic Catholic Church. For the perfect luxury getaway, there's the glass enclosed Entertainment Cruise or the Spa at Mandarin Hotel. I haven't experienced this spa yet but I have experienced the one at the Gaylord Resort (10 min from Congress Heights) and although it's a bit pricey it is well worth it! I almost left out outdoor activities! One of the biggest surprises moving to DC is the amount of greenery around, especially in SW. I think dc.gov says something like DC has more parks nationally per capita than anywhere in the US, so I won't attempt to list them all here, but if you're looking for local parks, dog park, bike trials, and national parks, you don't have to go far. Although I travel primarily by car there's a lot of options in Congress Heights. Capital Bikeshare - 3 blocks Congress Heights Metro Station - 1.7 mi. Nearby Bus Line - .2 mi. Also, if you prefer car sharing here are some options to try. Zip Car Car2Go Lyft Uber Via By the way, if you choose to drive try out these parking apps to make you trip more enjoyable and affordable. ParkWhiz GoDCGo SpotHero Or park at Congress Heights Metro parking lot for just dollars per day and take the subway to your destination. Although super comfortable and carefully decorated, this room is great for a solo traveler or for two travelers who don't mind sharing a bed.
