**Please Note: Due to road closures, Hopewell is currently water taxi access only - additional costs apply ** Welcome to our paradise, Hopewell has been a guest house since the 1950's, with a stunning waterfront location in the pristine Kenepuru Sound. Set on 40 hectares of native bush, here you can escape from the maddening crowds and enjoy New Zealand's beautiful natural environment. Hopewell is an multi-award winning lodge, famous for its incredible location, fantastic facilities and genuine New Zealand hospitality. We can accommodate up to 20 people in a number of cottages. Hopewell is the perfect retreat for relaxing and chilling out, lazing around in the hammocks or soaking in the hot tub. Beautiful gardens, great coastline to explore and collect local shellfish. You can enjoy walking, kayaking, SUPs, fishing, swimming and so much more. There is even a wonderful golf course down the road. There is water taxi access to the Queen Charlotte Track if you would like to do a days walk, or get picked up from our jetty and join the famous Pelorus Mail Boat run into the outer Sounds. Enjoy chatting to other travelers and kiwis that often come to stay or there is plenty of space if you just want some down time. Rooms are all well appointed with brand new beds and crisp linen, the kitchen is a chefs dream with excellent ovens, fridges, pots and pans, sharp knives and great crockery etc. And if you fancy a night off cooking we do offer gourmet pizzas, homemade bread and espresso coffees. All you need to bring is food and a smile. You have access to our whole grounds, we have a jetty, outdoor spa pool, BBQ area, common kitchen/lounge/dining areas, hammocks, beaches and walks. The lounge has a log fire and lots of books, magazines and board games. No TV here, we encourage folks to talk to each other! Check out our other listings on Airbnb as we also have a fully self-contained cottage and other rooms available. We have rental equipment available, mountain bikes are $15 for unlimited during your stay, kayaks (lifejackets and dry bags provided) are $20 for unlimited use and Standup Paddle Boards are $10 for 2 hours. We have excellent high speed internet but out here if doesn't come cheap as we get it via Mobile Cell Phone Tower so first 500mb voucher is complimentary and then we charge $3 per extra voucher. We live on site in our own house so we are always here to help you between the hours of 8am and 8pm Bring your own food, there are no shops out here. We have plenty of fridge/freezer and cupboard space for food storage. Last supermarkets are in Picton, Blenheim or Nelson and there is a small one in Havelock. We do have some sandflies so remember to bring your insect repellent.
