The Black Yurt

MAX OCCUPANCY 2 Adults & 2 Children under 12 The Black Yurt is situated within Oakura on our section. The surf beach, a number of cafes/restaurants, pharmacy and convenience store are within walking distance. Several hiking trails can be found nearby. Accessible via a private staircase, this yurt offers a comfortable bed, lounge area and kitchenette. The bath and shower are outdoors. A separate small building contains the toilet. Including: heatpump, gas bbq, windows with flyscreen This out of the ordinary space is situated on a spacious deck, placed among trees and adjoining a small stream. The yurt feels cozy (approx. 38 sqm) and is a beautiful place to unwind. Additionally to the king size bed, there’s a queen size futon mattress that can be rolled out on the floor to accommodate a maximum of two children. Please request the futon when traveling with children. The dome can be opened and the windows rolled up for a great indoor/outdoor flow and stargazing at night. It is insulated and has a heatpump for heating/cooling. The kitchenette offers coffee and tea equipment as well as a toaster and small fridge. For additional, small cooking needs, a gas barbecue is situated on the deck. The setup is not suitable for bigger food preparation. We encourage our guest to check out the local cafes and restaurants. A beautiful bath and shower can be enjoyed under the open sky. The toilet house is accessible under a roof and houses a hand basin and toilet. Please park your car in the designated area and descend the private staircase to the yurt. The deck is all yours and we are planning to extend the outdoor area further in future. Our house is on the land, too and is partially visible from the yurt. You can probably see us every now and then going about our day. We are happy to assist our guest. Please get in touch if you need anything. Oakura is a lovely little village. Getting around is easy-by simply walking. It is renown for its beautiful surf beach and the surrounding bush. A bus runs from Oakura to New Plymouth.
