The Musterer & Me is a place where the wandering stockman would have once rested his weary feet. He sought shelter and kept watch nestled on a hilly rise looking out over his beloved hills whilst enjoying the many moods of the magnificent mountains in the distance. The Musterer & Me is a treasured place for two. Our deep bath invites the outdoors in with a large bi-fold window, the main cabin allows the eye to wander over the ever changing landscape whilst cozying up next to the woodburner, or lounging in bed. Should inspiration strike there is an inviting desk at the ready, the dining nook makes the most of the morning sun, and the front verandah is a lovely spot to enjoy a warming or refreshing drink. The Musterer & Me hut has all the modern amenities whilst remaining rich with heritage & character. It is quite some distance and has total privacy from any other farm houses or buildings. During the daytime sometimes it can be quiet and sometimes there will be activity related to the hut being on a working farm, usually in relation to moving or feeding stock. We ask that you respect the working nature of the farm by leaving gates as you find them, if in doubt, please close them. If you come across stock being moved we ask that you wait patiently for them to pass. Please understand at this stage we do not allow walking over the property, we can not remotely ensure guests safety or the safety of our animals. The Musterer & Me hut is just the place to wind down, switch off and linger longer, you may not want to leave. However, mountains, rivers and activities such as tramping (hiking), skiing, mountain biking, fishing or jet boating are all on the doorstep and can be hard to resist. Please note, our hut is not suitable for pets or children due to the historic nature of the hut and the many other animals we have around the property. We only have a step in bath with a handheld shower piece - please consider whether this listing is suitable for you. It is important that you are a confident driver, the access to the hut is via a farm track with a gradient and loose gravel. Please be careful with with low clearance vehicles. The parking area is small and tight, if you have a trailer you must be able to reverse down a narrow track for 200m. Access to the hut is down steps and uneven terrain. If you have mobility issues this listing may not be suitable for you. The Musterer & Me hut is off the grid and supplied by very adequate solar power and unlimited gas. The minimal kitchen includes a bar fridge and freezer, a gas two burner hob with grill and a gas kettle. We have stovetop espresso coffee and a plunger coffee, whichever you prefer. We stock a basic pantry which includes olive oil, ground coffee beans, black & herbal tea, salt & pepper. Within 10mins drive there are two pubs and a bakery. Most people prefer to stock up and dine in.
