Dún Laoghaire is located on the coastline and is just 20 minutes from the city centre by train/ 30 mins by bus and just a hop away from magical Wicklow. The studio is a beautiful self contained space with off street parking and its own front door. The interior is well laid out and equipped with food prep/storage area, a fridge, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities, and a foldaway dining table/ work space, as well as a private bathroom. PLEASE NOTE: The studio is not suitable for self isolation purposes. We offer a beautiful, clean, high quality space to the discerning traveller who enjoys their independence. The Studio, measuring 22 sq meters, is separate from the main house and has it’s own access. Guests can look forward to a very comfortable bed with memory foam mattress and cosy goose down duvets so a good night’s sleep is guaranteed. While the space is ideal for the solo traveller it can also accommodate 2 people as the daybed extends to a king. Please note: there is only one bed. The studio also contains satellite TV, Wifi, coffee & tea making facilities, a small fridge and a microwave oven/grill- essential elements necessary while on the move. Perfect for both business travellers and visitors. PLEASE NOTE: The studio is not suitable for self isolation purposes. Guests have access to the entire studio space which has tea and coffee making facilities, toaster, microwave/grill and fridge. We are happy to provide a selection of teas and coffee plus home made bread and home made granola along with preserves, butter and milk to help you enjoy your stay. The main house is private but on occasion we invite guests to join us for breakfast if our schedule allows when we can answer any questions. Guests can enjoy free off street parking. We are always ready to assist guests with advice and there is a great selection of reading material and tourist information along with maps in the studio. We may not always be available in person but respond immediately to phone, email and text messages. You don't need a car to enjoy the multitude of amenities in Dún Laoghaire and the surrounding areas. The coastline is 1.9km from the house: it’s a 5 minute bus ride or 20/25 minute walk depending on your level of fitness. Enjoy long walks on the East & West Piers in Dún Laoghaire and the coastline. Literary lovers will enjoy the Joyce Tower in Sandycove where Ulysses is set and swimmers will relish the famous 40ft bathing area in front of the Martello Tower. Dún Laoghaire has many art galleries, a theatre and multiplex cinema. The lively and picturesque villages of Monkstown, Blackrock and Dalkey are within walking distance or a short train ride where you will find numerous excellent cafes, restaurants and bars. All can be recommended without exception. Within minutes of the house are three supermarkets, a chemist and a café as well as two great pubs, McCormack’s and Bakers Corner, each pub serving excellent food all day. The 46A bus stops 70 metres from the house, this route will have you in the city in 30/40 minutes. There is also the option to take the train from Dún Laoghaire to the city or in the opposite direction along the coastline towards Wicklow and further afield. There are lots of choices. We recommend using a Leap card as it gives 20/25% discount off all public transport. We have cards that guests can use and top up as needed. We discovered from chatting with previous guests that this was more economical than purchasing the Visitor Leap car but please do check out the options. The 46A is very frequent and runs every 8 minutes or so. There are two more buses within easy reach: no.4 bus is within 12 minutes walk and the no.111 bus a 7 minutes walk away. Between these 4 different routes all areas of the city and surrounding areas can be reached. The coastline is 1.9km away and takes approximately 20 minutes walk, or hop on the bus and be there in 5 minutes. We are very close to the N11 & M50 motorway and we have free off street parking for guests who are driving. Taxis are available 24/7 and can be hailed on the street or booked in advance.
