Yosemite Cottage -- four miles from the South entrance to the National Park, this cottage is ideal for exploring Yosemite or for merely relaxing in the sun on the deck overlooking the creek. Updated in 2018 with new tile flooring, furniture, towels/linens, and TV/internet, this will be a welcome home for your weekend escape. This private cottage is approximately 500 square feet and is complete with updated tile, furniture and appliances -- full-size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, gas range, oven, washer and dryer. The deck, accessible off of the dining area and allows views of the woods and the stars on clear nights. The cottage borders route 41, which can yield traffic noise as visitors head to Yosemite for the day. Drinking water is stocked, as the water at the cottage can be mineral-laden, because it comes from a spring. Lonely Planet describes Yosemite in the following manner: "The jaw-dropping head-turner of America’s national parks, and a Unesco World Heritage site, Yosemite (yo-sem-it-ee) garners the devotion of all who enter. From the waterfall-striped granite walls buttressing emerald-green Yosemite Valley to the skyscraping giant sequoias catapulting into the air at Mariposa Grove, the place inspires a sense of awe and reverence...you’ll feel your heart instantly moved by unrivaled splendors: the haughty profile of Half Dome, the hulking presence of El Capitan, the drenching mists of Yosemite Falls, the gemstone lakes of the high country’s subalpine wilderness and Hetch Hetchy’s pristine pathways." (Website hidden by Airbnb) Debbie is the property manager and lives twenty minutes from the cottage should you have needs during your stay. We are also available by text and email. Fish Camp is a mountain community bordering the national forest and Yosemite National Park. Twelve miles south is Oakhurst, providing easy access to grocery stores and gift shops. Bass Lake is 12 miles south east for Fish Camp. Jet Skis, Party Barges and Paddle-boards are available for rent. For this that prefer not to dive, the Yarts bus system travels to and from the park several times a day. Discover Yosemite Tours offers multiple options for seeing the park with their knowledgeable guides in the comfort of their motor coach. The historic Yosemite Mountain - Sugar Pine Railroad (Website hidden by Airbnb) is a five minute walk away. In addition to narrated excurions into the Sierra National Forest, they also host BBQs and Moonlight Rides with entertainment on Saturdays. Absolutely something from a by-gone era.
