An excellent stopover or getaway spot in La Grande — the heart of Eastern Oregon’s Grande Ronde Valley. Spacious and eclectic basement suite uniquely decorated and supplied with everything you need for a comfortable stay: —Private, separate entrance protected with security door code; —Super comfy queen bed with quality bedding; —En suite bathroom facilities with rain-water shower; —Multiple seating options including plush, velvet sofa with chaise lounge; —Media center with large screen TV, turntable and vinyl record collection; —Kitchenette space with mini-fridge, microwave and complimentary coffee/tea/water service; —Laundry facilities if needed; —Semi-private, off-street parking secured with several motion-detector lights. All of this is tucked away in a secluded (yet central), park-like setting very close to Eastern Oregon University (great for visiting students and families) and La Grande’s historic downtown for shops, eateries, music venues and more! Enjoy outdoor recreation and all that beautiful NE Oregon offers. Have fun checking out the groovy decor, old photographs and vintage memorabilia. The space is most comfortable for singles and couples, but can accommodate 3 people if needed. Due to the lack of cooking facilities, this space is not ideal for long stays, nor is it ADA sufficient. While this space was fairly recently renovated, it is a basement in an early 1900s-era structure with no insulation between the floors. Please be aware that I live upstairs. There will be floor creaks and sound from above when I’m home. Also note that the bathroom space is an open area with only curtains to close off the toilet and shower—may not be suitable for some people wanting more privacy. ***You will not be able to successfully map the house address.*** Please carefully note and follow the driving directions prior to your arrival. Preferred check-in time is between 2pm and 5pm, but is negotiable through prior arrangement. Once you arrive, you’ll have private access with a keyless entry. Code provided in private message. I pride myself on being highly responsive during our interactions. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Once you arrive, I'm happy to play tour guide and offer recommendations or leave you alone as much or as little as you like. This is a small and friendly community. Feel safe walking around the neighborhood and nearby historic downtown and EOU. The campus is especially great for strolling and also has an 18-hole disc golf course available to the public. Surrounding area is abundant with outdoor activity and recreational options. Also don’t be surprised if you see wild deer outside in the yard. Be aware that during inclement weather it can be difficult and treacherous to drive to La Grande as there is only one interstate that grants access. Note road conditions for I-84 if you’re coming during winter months. Once you’re in town, it’s easy and safe to walk around. Everything is also a short driving distance away. Because there is little noise barrier between my space and yours, carefully re-consider this space if you're looking for maximum privacy or are traveling with an infant. I also use the space for entertaining friends and family. Please be respectful of the many personal belongings and use discretion when considering small children as there are fragile items as well as decor with a mature nature.
