Cozy cottage, this location provides the very best of the outdoors for cottaging enthusiasts 45 minutes from the GTA. Found on the outskirts of Port Perry near the Blue Heron Casino and on the shores of Lake Scugog, you will find great fishing, swimming, and boating at your doorstep. Also great lounging on the deck/dock! The casino is 5 min drive and the town of Port Perry with its good restaurants and shopping is 10 min car ride or take your boat! Unfortunately, no pets are allowed by guests. The cottage is perched on the lake with great views of the area. Besides the great fishing, swimming, and boating we also offer 2 summer kayaks, for your pleasure. We are a 10 min stroll to Goretsky's Marina where you will find a harbor-side restaurant/bar in the summer that is open for lunch and dinner and evening entertainment. (Under renovation by new owners... unclear what future plans will be for 2022 and future...) If you would like to shop or are looking for other dining opportunities the town of Port Perry will provide what you are looking for and more just a short 10-minute drive by either car or boat. Feeling lucky? Venture a short 5 min car ride up to the Blue Heron Casino and try your hand. If you are coming with a fishing boat we can arrange to have it at the dock on our lift for better overnight security and care. Need to be confirmed with us so we can move our boat onto the trailer. We look forward to being your host soon!! Lawrence & Stacey Sunset Haven Cottages You can easily drive to the cottage on well paved roads. There is ample parking on new driveway. A gentle slope leads you to the chalet perched over-top the lake for fantastic views and spectacular sunsets. Gentle stairs lead you down to the dock where you can put your boat (if you have one) on the lift that is available to you. As the host to this little piece of heaven I will greet the guests when they arrive on Sunday afternoon and set them up for their stay. During the visit I will be available by phone. I will return when guests check out. Fishing excursions may also be available. The area is a fantastic example of cottage country. The lake is a prime location for fishing, water sports, hiking, canoeing, sightseeing or just relaxing and reading a book. Port Perry is very close for shopping, restaurants and a stroll. You will require a car for this location. MT. bikes are also a great way to explore the surroundings. If you have a boat you can take it to town or go anywhere the Trent Severn Waterway can take you! A boat lift can be arranged for a boat. No Additional invited guests are allowed on the property. If you like to fish make sure you have a fishing licence. This is easily attainable in Port Perry at the Canadian Tire store. Lift available to you and for your boat at our dock. The lake is prolific and holds Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, Carp, and panfish for your angling pleasure. From last weekend in June till Labour Day weekend we only accept full week bookings. Outside of this period, shorter stays are possible.
