The Nest - a cosy garden cabin near Bath
The Nest is a cosy garden space in the small historic mining town of Radstock, perfect for exploring Bath, Frome, Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar or the surrounding Somerset countryside. It is a perfect breakaway for one or two people with its own private entrance at the end of a terrace of 6 old miners' cottages. Please note - there is only pedestrian access to the terrace, involving a 2 minute walk down a fairly steep hill. There is plenty of parking at the top. This is an old mining terrace and a very friendly neighbourhood. The access to The Nest is along a shared path in front of the 5 other houses, so you may get to meet some of the residents as you come and go. Once you are settled in The Nest you can be totally private is wished. However, I am available if you need any further information, so feel free to knock on the door or send text message. Cook your own breakfast is included, and the eggs are freshly laid by my rescued hens! The Space - there is one main room with a double bed and kitchenette with table top cooker, fridge, sink, kettle and toaster and a separate shower room. There is also a private, south facing patio where you can enjoy outside dining and views across the valley. In the Summer this is a warm light space and in the Winter it can be cosy with a portable thermostated oil radiator and heated towel rail in bathroom. There are plenty of country walks and the Sustrans Cycle Path 25 (The Colliers Way) is 2 mins away, but please note this is a very hilly area. The access down from the road to The Nest is quite steep and we are situated above Radstock, so wherever you wander there is no avoiding a hill or two! Local maps are available to borrow. There are a couple of pubs within 20 mins walking distance offering food and local ales and Radstock - 10 minutes walk, has a cafe, an Italian Restaurant, various takeaways and the Co-op. There are regular buses to Bath (every 20 mins) from the centre of town or if you're on your bikes it's 13 km, which includes the two tunnels and is mostly off road. Parking is at the top of a short, but fairly steep hill and there is usually plenty of parking available on the road.
