Unique Adobe Home with Outstanding sea views
Totally private and peaceful setting. Ideal for families, friends, couples seeking contrast to busy lives. Beautiful coastal views from this unique, tastefully decorated and comfortable adobe house. Set in outstanding native QE2 covenanted bush, alive with bird song. Many outdoor activities at hand. Wonderful bush and coastal walking from the doorstep. 20 minutes drive from Nelson city, 10 mins walk from river swimming hole, and 10 minutes drive to swimming beach. This is a very special home designed to maximise views across the Cable Bay estuary, Pepin Island and out to Tasman Bay. It is nestled into the native bush and very sheltered. Bird song will greet you as you awake and lull you to sleep at night! Bring your kayaks or visit Cable Bay Kayaks for safe and beautiful kayaking in the estuary itself and round Pepin Island. Bring your bikes for a 20 minute spectacular coastal ride to Cable Bay beach for a swim and coffee at Cable Bay Cafe. The clay home is of wattle and daub construction made of clay and kanuka from the property itself, and is absolutely unique. Guest enjoy the open plan design, ultra comfy beds with quality linen, excellent music and book collections and the fully-equipped kitchen. The house and surrounding garden area is totally private with separate access and parking. Rachel will show you bush walks up into the QE2 covenanted native forest up to the ridge line where you will get wonderful views of Cable and Delaware Bays, Paramata wetlands and Cable Bay estuary. I stay in a separate cottage and am often available as a walking guide or with any information you might need about the area. Cable Bay walkway is a 'must do' activity if you like walking that is. Am very happy to meet you at other end of walkway and drive you back to your car! A wonderful estuary to explore either at low tide when you can walk over to deserted beach or around the bush clad peninsula. Cable Bay is 5 minutes drive where there is fabulous summer swimming and a cafe. Cable Bay Kayaks will arrange kayak trips in the estuary for the less adventurous and around Peppin Island which is very scenic and rivals the Abel Tasman for experiences. Cable Bay Adventure park is also close by for mountain biking (ebikes), walking, horse trekking and quad bikes and also has a cafe. This is a unique part of North Nelson mainly undiscovered. No Public Transport.
