Mufasa: Glamping in the bush with wow factor

The safari tent has a king-size bed with doona and plenty of blankets, lighting, cupboard space and a small gas fridge for your food storage. There is also a nearby kitchenette, pizza oven, firepit, toilet and hot shower. For fun and games, there is a chess board and dartboard and some sporting activities. For an extra $30 guests can use the outdoor bath. You can either be driven to the safari tent area (parking 200 metres away) or if you have a suitable 4wd, you can drive there yourself. Mufasa (the safari tent area) is a fully functional area for you to enjoy your stay and relax the whole time. Wood is provided for the pizza oven as well as for the firepit. Please be aware that you are in the middle of the bush and the area has low lighting for ambience so you may wish to bring a torch or headlamp if you wish to go for walks at night. Also, please bring your own towels. We ask that you take your shoes off before entering the safari tent, and also limit eating food and drink within the tent itself. Mufasa is accessible via a 4wd vehicle only. You can either park your 2wd vehicle about 200 metres away and walk the remainder or we can help you take your gear there in our vehicle. The safari tent is located about 50 metres from a grassed area (Nala), which you can also book as part of a larger group. The toilet and shower are about 30 metres from the safari tent. We are available to guests at most times during their stay. It is requested they message or phone us. You will have solitude during your stay. Other campers are likely not even in earshot. All Hakuna Matata guests have access to swimming in the dam, to various walking tracks around the property, and even to being over-enthusiastic and running the assault course. There is a bakery as well as small takeaway, both with great coffee 5 minutes drive away in Booral. There are a number of cafes, as well as Hotel Bistro in Stroud, a 15 minute drive away. Getting to the property is possible with any vehicle. The safari tent is reached using a 4wd vehicle. If you don't have a 4wd, then you can park about 200 metres away and Kieran or Veronika can drive you with your belongings to the safari tent, and drive you back to your car for your departure Hakuna Matata resort has many bush walks in the surrounding areas. Port Stephens beaches are within an hour. There are supermarkets and restaurants within 30-40 mins in Medowie or Raymond Terrace, and a grocery store and pub meals at Stroud, about 10 minutes away.
