Greetings! I'm a private chef that has a irresistible call for the wild and I love to show people the way of the land. Taking guests on culinary adventures, packing picnics, foraging, cooking on fire using primitive techniques is a taste of what I do. You will be staying in a sacred tipi and having Nature’s Chef at your service. Everything is included in your stay, rest, relax and adventure! A unique BnB experience, stay with a holistic chef and adventure. Nature’s Chef Tom Kral has found his home in Sooke, where river meets the sea brings a explosion of life. Ideal for a chef that is off the beaten path. Meals are included with your stay, this and as well taking you out on journey’s, Tom is your perfect guide. Cuisine is local-rustic-wild, nothing pretentious. We can gather foods at times, cook on fire, whatever the moment calls. Sited on 8 acres of land, 10min walk to the beach, close to rainforest and nearby parks, nature surrounds you. Sooke is the last town before you loose cell connection and enter the gnarly rainforests of Juan De Fuca, home to some of the worlds best hiking trails. Also to mention great for recreations like kayaking, surfing, mountain biking, yoga. Tom is a really easy going guy who loves good food! He goes to local organic farms, gather wild edibles, ferment, preserve.. to sum it up you will be eating the best food ever, feeling rejuvenated and making the best of the wild west. Tipi is located on 8 acres of a wild meadow, you will be surrounded by berries and birds. Besides staying in your private space of the tipi you also have access to the main house and other outdoor space like the outdoor lounge. Lounge has overhead cover so it is enjoyable with rain as well. Picnic table for lunches is on the lawn when the weather is nice. Fire pits are always nearby. There is a driftwood outhouse with composting toilet by the tipi, then you have full access to the bathroom in the house. Takes 2min to walk to. The kitchen is organized and stocked with organic goodies, Tom finds it works better that he takes care of the guests providing nourishing meals, teas and ferments. If you are in need of something just let the chef know. I am your tour guide and chef! Happy to share knowledge and secret places. That being said if you feel you need some private time just let me know, there will be moments you can have alone time. Besides hosting AirBnB I usually have a Workaway staying with me as well to help out, brings a nice balance to the table of people travelling. This is the land of Ella. Ella beach is a long stoney beach that is very much private, 10min down Ella Rd will take you there. Seals and sealions may be witnessed from the shore as well as many types of ocean birds and eagles. It is a sheltered cove and provides a good location for sunset photos. Along Ella road runs Ella creek, rainforest is just up the driveway, you will have solitude of nature at a quick walk. Around the corner from Ella beach is Whiffin Spit, excellent view of Sooke basin. Sooke Potholes is one of the Canada’s greatest swimming destinations, river rapidly running with waterfalls, cliffs, beaches, salmon spawning at times. Boardwalk area in Sooke is a pleasant walk from Ed MacGregor park, great space to catch crabs. JDF marine hiking trail is approximately 20min drive from Sooke, one the world’s best. Jordan river is renowned for surfing and paddle boarding. Lakes, rives, mountains are abundant, this is why having a guide you will see the best of it. Having Tom as your guide you will be able to have no limits. Equipped with a Delica Royal it is a great adventure mobile as it has off-road capability while still having luxury. Home is situated at the last part of Sooke, you loose cell connection and there is no public transportation west north of your stay. However if you plan to venture to town the BC transit bus stop is within 5min walk to the doorstep. From Swartz Bay ferry terminal or Victoria airport you can take the public transit to arrive within minutes walk to the doorstep. Tom lives on shared land with another family, they are tribe. Family of three beautiful girls who you may see often, as they like to play host too. There may also be events hosted by other groups on the land, you are free to join in if it feels right to you.
