Fairlane Hillside Retreat - Luxury, space, style.

Our bright, modern guest house is tucked away in the hillside at the top of the Toowoomba Range. It's very conveniently located, ideal for weddings at Picnic Point, Preston Peak and Gabbinbar. It is comfortable and has style: open-plan design, large windows, majestic trees (including Bunya pines) and views to distant hills. It's very private and is only minutes from Picnic Point, the Range shopping centre, Queens Park and the CBD. It's open to all adults and children over the age of 15. Climate-control throughout, large en suite bathroom and walk-in robe in the luxury master suite. Gas hot water, fully-equipped kitchen with dishwasher and large pantry, laundry and separate toilet next to the main bathroom all make for a comfortable stay. Each bedroom has a flatscreen TV and built-in robes, and there is a gas BBQ on the patio. We have styled the home for comfort and simple elegance, with a splash of luxury. Please note there is a small extra charge per night for each guest over 2, so that we can make our prices fairer for couples. You will have the entire house and immediate surrounds for your group to enjoy, bearing in mind it is an accommodation only for the use of our valued guests. There's a little study with games, books, and magazines, where you can have a game of Scrabble, or challenge yourself on your music knowledge with a fun team game of Spics and Specs :) Or kick back on the patio where there is seating and a gas BBQ. It's private and there are no close neighbours overlooking the property. We are just across the way in the older house if you need us, but we can't see or hear you. Please note that a couple of areas of the property away from the guest house are not yet fully landscaped, it's a work in progress. We can't wait for the final completion! Mark and Trudy live in the older modernist house on the same property,and each house is private. They are available to offer local information if needed, but will leave you to explore Toowoomba and the Granite Belt and enjoy a relaxing stay in the way that suits you. We are able to provide a transfer service to and from the Toowoomba bus station or Toowoomba's Wellcamp airport, for a minimal fee. Please indicate any requirement for this at the time of your booking. It's only a 20-minute walk to famous Picnic Point, with amazing lookouts and bush hikes, and a cafe with views to die for! (They do the most wonderful Devonshire teas with home-made scones and rhubarb jam!) We are close to Queens Park and the CBD, lovely cafes and the Japanese Gardens. You'll love the tree-lined streets and temperate climate of Toowoomba, and might not even want to venture further afield to the wineries and quaint country towns of the Granite Belt. You can do an evening Ghost tour, visit Spring Bluff historic train station, and enjoy the iconic Carnival of Flowers in September. Toowoomba is a charming and historic blend of old and new, country and city. If you love walking, this is the place to be. The Picnic Point hikes are a must. A car will get you to all the nicest spots in Toowoomba easily. There is public transport (not too frequent) and several daily buses to Brisbane. And of course, there is always Uber! At this difficult time with the corona virus, we just wanted to reassure our guests that Fairlane Lodge is thoroughly and carefully cleaned between each stay. All surfaces, including bath and showers, vanities, kitchen benches, toilets and floors are cleaned properly and with dedicated single use cloths. Almost all our visitors are from within Australia, mainly here for weddings or work. Our reviews universally note that the property is sparkling clean. We hope this puts your mind at rest as far as possible! There are no stairs in the house and it is wheelchair-friendly, but please note that it is set on a hillside with a great view. Our house is open to all adults and children over 15. We ask that guests don't smoke in the house, and no pets please. We also ask that you bear in mind that the facilities are for dedicated guests.
