Not just a bed for the night, we offer much more than that!! Our guided farm tours (POA) are very popular with visitors from around the world. You are driven in comfort around our 1000 acre farm. Malcolm is an experienced tour guide, farmer and shepherd who has all the facts and figures you require as well as extensive knowledge of animal husbandry and local topography. The tour includes a sheepdog demonstration and all you wanted to know about sheep , cattle, bulls and breeding. Find out how NZ produces such top quality commodities on grass fed pastures. cost is $50 per person. The cottage is well insulated and comfortable to stay in all year round. We are happy to provide you with all your linen, towels, hand towels , face cloths and complimentary soaps. There is a modern well equipped kitchen with a fan oven and microwave. The cottage has a comfy Queen sized bed and electric blankets. The modern heat pump will keep you cosy and warm in winter and cool in summer. We are happy to help you out with further plans and ideas of places to visit while you stay in the Waikato region. We enjoy meeting people from all over the world. Many visitors have no idea how many activities and experiences New Zealand can offer, especially in this area. Our farm is centrally located and with in easy driving distance of , Hobbiton, Waitomo Caves, Rotorua , Coromandel and Raglan beaches. There are many the areas of natural beauty with walking trails and waterfalls. The Nikau Limestone Cave and Cafe has guided tours of their caves and a place to have a meal afterwards. The owners are local farmers who love to give visitors a more personal experience and have been running this successful venture for over 10 years, highly recommended. Hamilton has an Internationally acclaimed garden complex that offers visitors a wide range of themed gardens to stroll through all year round. * Only one hour south of Auckland International Airport. * We are pleased to be able to offer extensive parking areas for motorhomes and vans /vehicles * good internet access with our WiFi system. * A car is essential. *This is non smoking accommodation * Cellphone coverage is excellent with local provider Vodafone Anderson Cottage is self contained and detached from the main house. The cottage is private and has its own parking area out in front. Guests have access to our tennis court, racquets and balls on request, with an extensive garden to look around and sit in. My husband and I are here to help you with travel arrangements and to give our guests a heads up on what is to be experienced in the North and South Waikato region. We are experienced travelers through out NZ and are able to give you up to date information on attractions and activities available in our region and beyond. Our farm covers a 1000 acres of farmland with a variety of other topographical features including an ancient limestone bluff and many native and exotic tree plantations. On our boundary is a Native Reserve, The Hakarimata Range, that has many hiking and walking trails for all abilities. Our local town is Ngaruawahia. It has a small but well stocked supermarket, petrol stations and 6 ATM's. The Library is open 5 days a week with computers. There is the local Maori King's marae which is located on the banks of one of our major rivers, the Waikato River. In March there are maori canoes to be seen on the racing each other on the river. There is an annual celebration of the Maori Kin's coronation in August. As we are in a rural area it is essential that you have your own car to travel to our farm. Hamilton Airport is 40 minutes south and Auckland International Airport is just over an hour away on the new Expressway We are happy to show you around our 1000 acre farm and my husband Malcolm is a very experienced sheep and cattle farmer who loves driving our guests around our property and is happy to answer questions concerning any aspect of farming, forestry and animal husbandry. Our farm tours are $50 per person and last a minimum of 2 hours
