My property is a converted Victorian stables, dating back to (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) It is the stables to the Franciscan monastery next door as shown in the photos. It was converted in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , but (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) saw a total renovation including new bathroom (s). The guest bedroom is dual aspect, a lovely bright room with a superb King bed, and it also has a TV with Prime and Netflix. Although the guest bathroom is assigned solely for AirB&B guests, it is not en-suite. Breakfast is simple if required; Pastries, tea & coffee This wonderful large King Size room, which is 17ft x 10ft (5.2m x 3.2m) is probably the nicest bedroom in the house, including my own! The lounge area is my personal space but all other areas are available to use. The main garden has far reaching views across the South Downs, with polo ponies in the surrounding fields that border the property. The courtyard garden just off the kitchen, proves to be an ideal place to have breakfast or tea and coffee on sunny and warm days. The kitchen dining table has now been moved to the dining room downstairs off the kitchen, or alternatively you can take breakfast in the kitchen. There is easy access to Goodwood, Arundel, Petworth and the South Downs Way. Plus there are lots of wedding venues in close proximity including Bignor Park, Upwaltham Barns, Duncton Mill and village hall, Two Woods in Pulborough plus many more. For a small fee there is often a taxi service provided by the host to wedding destinations and similar venues. The rear garden and the courtyard garden Hello and welcome! I am excited to be a part of this community and to be able to help people feel right at home :) I love meeting people from different parts of the world and I will do my best to make your stay as comfortable as possible during your time here. Q&As: Where do you currently live? “I currently live in Petworth after spending 15 years living in the USA. After that time, I decided that I missed England too much, and needed to come home!” What do you do for a living? “In the last three years, having spent a career in the music industry and then the film industry, I decided to turn to an as yet unrequited passion that I’d harboured for many years, writing. So I became a novelist, and so far I written one non-fiction book, two novels and I will begin writing my third novel in the autumn.” What are your hobbies/passions? “I enjoy walking, golf, going to quaint restaurants, and breakfast, lunch or dinner at the many lovely country pubs in the area. The country restaurant at Cowdray Farm Shop in Midhurst is lovely for breakfast or lunch, and it has its own Goodwood Estate Produce available to purchase in the store next door. Alternatively, 15 minutes in the car will find you at the Kennels at Goodwood Golf Club, for meals and drinks all day. It has to be seen be experienced and to fully comprehend what an amazing setting it is.” What can you share about your personality? I am a very calm and peaceful person, someone who was born in London, spent my career in the film industry, but who has discovered and fallen in love with the countryside of West Sussex.” What is your attitude towards life? “I believe that everything happens for a reason and trust that if I follow my intuition, good things will come my way. Life is about calm, serenity and balance for me.” When and why did you become an Airbnb host? “I have been a guest on Airbnb since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and I have really enjoyed the experiences I had in various Airbnb homes in the USA. I have just finished total renovation of this property and decided to begin hosting today, 29th July, (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , in order to occasionally share my idyllic home with other like-minded people.” What is your hosting style? I’m 100% approachable, happy to help with anything and I’m very laid back about mostly everything. I like guests to enjoy the surroundings and relax while they’re here, but I’m generally available most of the time as it’s my only home. I'd feel honoured to share my home with you! My home is a year round sanctuary with open rural views across the South Downs lined with oak trees and the occasional polo pony gazing over the fence at you. We are surrounded by horses and ponies and feel privileged to be living in such a beautiful oasis. The town of Petworth, just two miles away, is a quintessentially English country town, with everything you would need during your stay. It even has a small Co-Op store for essentials. There are many art galleries, antique shops and cafes, as well as country pubs and restaurants in and around the town. Parking there is usually very easy and free. As far as pubs go for eating out, you’re so spoiled for choice here! Here are five of my favourites... (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) (Website hidden by Airbnb) There are a number of cafes and tea rooms littered throughout this area, but here are three that are unique to themselves, two locally in Petworth and one further on in Midhurst... Just let me know your number or email address on the day or night before and I’ll send via email, iMessage or (Hidden by Airbnb) .
