The Maroon Pad
Located in total privacy overlooking beautiful vista garden areas, the Maroon Pad is a funky, modern with homely decor that will welcome you to your very own space that will instantly make you feel welcome, relaxed and instantly into the island zone. A high-set one bedroom house/apartment with wrap around verandas to catch the cool breeze whilst you hang out and enjoy the tranquility and serenity of the garden outlook. Including the large veranda decks this spacious well designed apartment covering 200 square metres of relaxed holiday living will ensure that you are chilled like Olaf with your very own flurry. The Maroon Pad will give you a modern, comfortable base to explore the history, environment and unique-ness that is Norfolk Island. As you leave the property, turn left at the gate and the Maroon Pad is an easy 15 minute walk to Hundred Acres Reserve - a beautiful piece of preserved flora and fauna with Gigantic Fig Trees and a plantation of Norfolk Island Pines. The Coastal parts of the trek allows for up close and personal interactions with sea birds nesting habitats and numerous lookouts to Phillip Island, Nepean Island and towards the Kingston Pier, Slaughter Bay and award winning Emily Bay Beach. A right turn at the gate though can take you towards either Bomboras Bay Beach (30mins walk) or keep on down Country Road to the Kingston Arthurs Vale Historical Area (KAVHA) (45mins walk), Kingston Pier, Slaughter Bay & Emily Bay, Island Cemetery and Cemetery Bay plus our beautiful World Heritage Listed Golf Course. Or you can just hop into your hire car and be in any of those places within five minutes. You can walk, ride a bike or drive anywhere on the island. From the Maroon Pad is approximately 20 minutes walk downhill to the Kingston Pier and the beaches and about the same to walk into the Burnt Pine shopping centre area. Despite being a small island, the rugged terrain means that roads on Norfolk are very interestingly curvy and meander up and down valleys. Due to everything being so close together here on island, you can do a multitude of activities such as go fishing in the morning, enjoy a burger with the lot at the Semoosa Bus down at Emily Bay for a swim after lunch, and then finish your day with a bit of a bushwalk and alfresco bbq at Captain Cooks outlook and enjoy the surrounding National Park.
