SEAKRET
Seakret is in "Old Cooya" right at the beach. A Tahitian Long House with an open plan lifestyle and generous wrap around veranda. Noting this is Far North Queensland (FNQ) and though we offer the Wi-Fi, it is on trial and we cannot guarantee it during your stay. Seakret is perfect for groups of family and friends; day tripping to the Barrier Reef and across the Daintree river. Then you spend lazy days at Seakret enjoying privacy and peace with a 10/10 chill factor; it will call you back. Seakret is uniquely presented for a relaxed tropical holiday. Guests have called it their own tree house; set in the canopy of rainforest trees, birds and butterflies with front veranda views to the Coral Sea as well as a sundowner sit on the back veranda with gorgeous sunsets to the west. Seakret is a haven of peace; yet it is also close to all local attractions. We can accommodate 12 /13 people in the 4 bedrooms depending on the number of children and couples. Let us know ideal sleeping arrangements for your group or family so we can let you know how we would set it up. Seakret is so peaceful that our guests find they stay home more than than intended when planning their trip to FNQ; enjoying this secluded oasis so much more than expected. Guests arrive here and soon feel the chill factor. You are coming to a well fenced tree covered property with a sizeable grassed surrounds. There is a completely private pool, huge garden of fruit trees and flowering shrubs with seating areas for you to find; all surrounded by trees. Wind down; float in the pool and move around the peaceful spots on the generous wrap around veranda. Plan another BBQ and take lunch into the garden sunshine; spread a picnic rug on the grassy areas below. Its all about your family and friends at Seakret. Seakret is close to all the local attractions of FNQ. Uniquely, You will be nestled between two world heritage listed areas The Daintree and the Barrier Reef. Yes that is unique in the world. For those that want the buzz of hot spots and hype of Port Douglas that is a 10 minute drive. Yes you need a car to come to Seakret as you will be driving from the house to known tourist spots of FNQ as much as finding swimming holes higher up river from any crocodiles; talk to the locals. We recommend also the quiet charm of nearby 'old' Mossman town, and around the corner, the famous Mossman Gorge. Or try Silky Oaks for a lovely lunch; all 10 minutes drive from us. You have the whole property - big enough to walk around with a glass of cool cheer, enjoying the ambience of a tropical lush garden. So enjoy it between your visits to the wonders of the Barrier Reef, a Daintree River Crocodile cruise or walk 2 minutes down the street to a locally guided Aboriginal cultural walk, into the river areas from Seakret. When you return to your own tropical paradise: Seakret is a fully equipped home for you to enjoy without close neighbors. Seakret welcomes you home with just the breeze and the birds. There a large play area with table tennis table downstairs with a laundry and 3rd bathroom. Parking is to be on the concrete under the veranda -not on the grass please. Up to 3 cars can be parked in the property and we ask the others to be parked at the front gate area outside the property. Seakret is fully fenced for smaller guests' safety: both the property and the wrap around veranda are fenced /gated and the pool has safety locks as secured gates. We have a locked box where the keys to the property are located We will provide your unique access code to the locked box just prior to your arrival We are available by mobile phone for any queries or emergencies if they arise. This is the original Cooya - the neighborhood of Cooya Beach. We are 5 minutes drive through FNQ cane fields, across the river to our original township of Mossman. Enjoy the ambience of a quiet secluded beach residential haven. You will want to stay at this private tropical retreat konwing that you can also access the best of local attractions easily by car; ONLY 20 minutes to the magnificence of the Daintree area and a quick 10 minutes to Port Douglas for shopping and joining a Barrier Reef boating experience. You will need a car; Cooya is 15 minutes north of Port Douglas and not easy to get a taxi. So most people fly to Cairns and get a car to do the 60 minute drive. We would say to enjoy Cooya and all the attractions of the area you require a good 4 days and a car is essential. If you don't want a car, you can catch the bus as transport from Cairns but stay in Port Douglas not Cooya. We have a 11 pm curfew regarding loud and noisy activity on the verandas and 'outdoor' pool and surrounds; just be considerate of noise levels at night for the locals. No parties without prior permission. No pets. The property is not to have anyone overnight except the names registered in Air bnb booking process for Seakret. NOTE: No other people can stay at the house beyond the number and actual names you have registered; insurance will be negated if there are others staying at the property. A small security deposit is held until the property is cleaned /up to 14 days after your departure ( AUD $750) - this will be returned when house is inspected for any damage during your stay. Do please inform us of any breakages or breakdowns by contacting us via the mobile/cell phone numbers you find in the House Manual in the house or via the phone number /messaging used for your booking with us
