Endeavour waterfall walk Queen Charlotte Track runs along the back of No Road Inn so great walks (or in winter mountain bike rides) in either direction, to the west and the old Endeavour Inlet Antimony Mine area or to the east towards the start of the QC track and Ship's Cove. Ship Cove is internationally recognised as Captain James Cook’s favourite New Zealand base during his three wide-ranging voyages of exploration. Visit the DOC site for the 1000-year-old rimu tree 500m to the east of No Road Inn, one of the oldest trees in the South Island. Trip to Motuara Island (by boat or Cougar ferry). Motuara Island is famous for being the location where, in 1770, Captain Cook proclaimed British sovereignty over the South Island. Visit Long Island/ Kokomohua Marine Reserve (by boat). Tucked away in the Marlborough Sounds, Long Island - Kokomohua Marine Reserve is a great getaway for the whole family. Relax on a sandy beach, explore rocky reefs and admire the distinctive landscapes of the Marlborough Sounds. Lunch or Dinner at Bay of Many Coves restaurant (if with boat) or Furneaux Lodge restaurant (1-minute walk). Visit Site Scuba Diving around the Mikhail Lermontov site, North of Endeavour Inlet in Port Gore. It begins with a journey through some of New Zealand’s finest scenery and an easy cruise across a sheltered bay. While we offer a very special secluded and pristine environment with no roads in or out, getting here is quite simple and very enjoyable. From WELLINGTON you can: Fly to Picton in 25 minutes and take a 30 minute water taxi cruise out to the No Road Inn Fly direct into lawn of Furneaux Lodge in 20 minutes by helicopter Take the Interisland ferry from Wellington to Picton (3 hours) and a 30-minute water taxi cruise to No Road Inn From CHRISTCHURCH you can: Take the scenic Coastal Train service from Christchurch to Picton and then a 30-minute water taxi to No Road Inn Self-drive to Picton, park your car close to the water taxi terminal, then take a 30-minute water taxi to No Road Inn Fly from AUCKLAND, WELLINGTON OR CHRISTCHURCH direct to BLENHEIM and either: Take a helicopter out to No Road Inn. To get to No Road Inn book your transfer on a Cougar Line scheduled sailing (60 minutes) or by a direct water taxi transfer (40 minutes) from Picton.
