Anakiwa is located in the Marlborough Sounds, close to the start of the Queen Charlotte Track. Take anywhere between half an hour or 3 days to explore the natural beauty of the New Zealand bush. Walk, mountain-bike, kayak, fish,swim, birdwatch or just enjoy the pace of life in the sounds. Bikes and kayaks available to hire. 20 minutes away to Havelock for cafe's, supermarket and dining . Maybe catch the Pelorus Mail Boat to explore the sounds. 40 mins to Blenheim for shopping, or winery tours. We have a self contained studio downstairs. You can come and go as you please. Our section backs onto a bush reserve so plenty of privacy. Beach is 5 minutes away. Bush and nature walks 5-10 minutes away Private access to the studio downstairs from the main house. Your own bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette and living area. Barbeque and bench top multi cooker available to cook your own meals. With prior notice we can supply a packed lunch,or provide an evening meal. Doors open outside to enjoy the garden on lovely sunny days. Or a log fire for those cooler nights. Rosey is available with lots of local knowledge to help you enjoy your stay Anakiwa has approximately 30 homes occupied by permanent residents and over 70 homes mostly occupied in the summer. Its a quiet peaceful town with many opportunities to enjoy the slower pace of life. Picton ferry and town 40 minutes away Blenheim wine touring 40 minutes away Nelson airport 1 hour 30 minutes away There are no shops close by. Nearest is Picton or Havelock, (1/2 an hour away)so it would be a good idea to pick up supplies before you arrive.
