A break from the busy & hectic city life, the Crail Cottage is a personal favourite of travellers & artists looking for a private, serene, secluded & quiet place in the wilderness. 30 mins (17 kms) from the main town of Shimla, the Crail Cottage is easily accessible at any time. Borrowing from the existing forest ecosystem, the Crail Cottage is made of mud, stones and wood. Originally made by the host's late Grandfather (who served as a Himachal Administrative Services Officer) to relax and read books, one is bound to discover life here. The myriad sounds of silence & chirping of birds are perfect for writing a book or revisiting your favourite novel. Living Room, Bedroom, Kitchen, Toilet, Balcony, Surroundings...all yours! The owners of this cottage will be available to help or guide you 24x7 over the phone and if required in person. You will be parking on the road - 150 metres away from the cottage and walking downhill on foot - through a narrow path that leads to this serene cottage. On your two minute walk, you will feel the absolute pleasure of breathing fresh air, listening to your footsteps and observing the landscape around full of trees. Baldeyan market & bus stop is only few metres away. Feel like hitting the main town of Shimla? You will find a direct bus to Shimla at every 30-45 mins from Baldeyan. Cabs are also readily available. There are many other beautiful spots, treks, villages, restaurants and local temples which you could explore in your free time. Home Delivery of Food (if made from the menu of Crail Cottage) will be possible by the host only if orders are made at least 5-6 hours in advance.
