Beech Close Cottage is a comfortable modern house , located in the lovely village of Crosby. Just one mile inland from the Cumbrian coast, and within easy traveling distance of the Lake District. Ideal for short term recreational stays, or possibly longer term business purposes. Beech Close Cottage is a modern house, which was built about fifteen years ago, as part of the renovation of a disused farmyard. In recent months the house has been extensively updated with a new bathroom, new flooring, a new boiler and several new kitchen appliances. The furnishings include deep comfortable sofas, a six foot wide super king size bed, and smart TVs. The farmyard provides ample parking for a couple of cars. A garage is available for the safe storage of bicycles, or other recreational equipment. A garden with unobstructed views over open countryside to the Lake District is available at the rear of the property. For families traveling with small children, we can provide a travel cot, feeding chair and stair gate. We live some distance away, but will endeavor to answer any questions by telephone or email promptly. We have friends in the local area who assist us with the letting of the house and can call around in person. Crosby is a lovely village situated one mile inland from the Cumbrian coast, and with good access to the Lake District. Cockermouth is a fifteen minute drive, and Keswick can be reached in thirty minutes. Shops and services are available in Maryport (five minutes by car), and the village pub is just across the road! Whilst a car is recommended, regular bus services linking the village to Carlisle and towns such as Workington, Maryport and Wigton, stop about 100 meters from the house. The nearest railway station is three miles away in Maryport. The Hadrian’s Wall Coast to Coast cycleway which stretches from Whitehaven to Tynemouth runs along the coastline about one mile from the house. In the local area, the route is along dedicated cycle tracks and very quiet country lanes. Cycling is an excellent way to enjoy the Solway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests will share the farmyard behind the house with our long term tenants who live next door in the Farmhouse. Our tenants keep three horses in the adjacent field, and the horses are brought into and out of the farmyard for riding, and for stabling in the barn.
