Peaceful country room with views.

Set on top of a hill overlooking the famous 'Mossvale Park' in South Gippsland. A special place to relax and enjoy beautiful views, fresh country air and wonderful local food. The room has comfortable queen size bed with a shared bathroom and a double shower with a separate toilet. Farm animals who are very friendly and of course our 2 Labradors who love people. A fully cooked country breakfast is available upon request. Two more rooms available for up to 6 people. The trees in the garden are unique to the area. They are over 100 years old and are admired by all our visitors. The garden includes many roses and fruit tress and our vegetable patch has a view that will impress. Guests have access to their own living room which has an open fire and a baby grand piano (please feel free to play). The kitchen is available for groups to use, however we ask that it be left clean. The garden is big and guests are welcome to wander in the garden and the vegetable patch. Our chickens are always happy to greet people and our horse and miniature ponies are very friendly. Our cattle are also very quiet and photogenic. Jeremy and I are always happy to give recommendations to guests on places to visit, good cafes and local restaurants/pubs. We live in the house and are totally respectful of guests privacy. However we also love to interact with our guests, if that is what is wanted. We are located above 'Mossvale Park' in South Gippsland. This park is a short walk down the hill from the house. The park has hosted concerts, weddings and markets and is very popular with locals and international visitors. Great for families who want to enjoy a picnic or a BBQ and the beautiful tress make this a very special place. The nearest towns are only 10 and 15 minutes away and host great cafe's and restaurants. One of our favorites is Cafe Escargot in Mirboo North, only 15 minutes drive from here. They offer great Italian food as well as fabulous snail dishes for the more adventurous palates. Wilson's Promontory is an hours drive from here. A fabulous place to bush walk and boasts beautiful beaches. Phillip Island is also within driving distance, for those who wish to visit the famous fairy penguins. There are many small townships which are well worth a visit including: Meenyian, Loch, Fish Creek and Foster. Arts and crafts shops are prevalent in these towns as well as great cafe's and local produce shops. If you like pottery then we can highly recommend 'Gooseneck Pottery' in Kardella. Beautiful pottery at great prices. So much to see and do- no wonder we love living here :) A car is essential for travelling around the hills of South Gippsland. The drive from Melbourne airport to Berry's Creek will take 2.5 hours (depending on traffic). Buses depart daily from Southern Cross station to Leongatha. We are happy to pick you up from the bus stop if you arrange this with us prior to your visit. Leongatha is 15 minutes away. Sometimes during the middle of winter we experience floods in South Gippsland. We will give notice of this if possible, however these events are not always predictable. Fires are rare in this area.
