A Beautiful Private Place in the Heart of Downtown
Sparse, clean, and quiet little apartment right in the heart of Downtown Troy! Five minutes walk from RPI campus. Comfy queen bed. Full kitchen. All the basics. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. Also great for atheists, polyglots, diviners, dowsers, witches, life curators, thought-stylists etc. This space is pretty basic and that's probably why it has great reviews. A couple warnings: There are windows and there is light but there are no views - you look out at the brick wall of the adjacent building 12 feet away. But the upside of that is that for a place in the middle of Downtown Troy, it is quiet. Note that this is on the second floor, it is a walk up. This apartment is in a building that has housed an alternative art space in Troy for 20 years. You have access to the apartment and also to the washer and dryer which are just outside your front door. We ask that you don't do laundry after 10PM to keep the noise down. Michelle or Igor are often around and available to answer questions or help. Send a text! We are right in the middle of downtown Troy. (Hidden by Airbnb) it! Parking: is limited to 2 hours downtown M-F from 9-5. Alternate overnight parking is available, just be sure to pay attention to which side of the street you're on. If you don't want to worry about parking tickets, drop your things off and park in the residential area of town, which begins just 3 blocks south from our address on 3rd street and Ferry. The apartment is on the second floor so you’ll need to take into account walking up a flight of stairs when you arrive. HEATING AND COOLING: In the winter, you can adjust the thermostat on the big radiator by turning the valve clockwise to close (and shut off heat) or counterclockwise to open (and turn up the heat.) Note that there is a 'stop' on the valve where the red button hits the middle - that is kind of the neutral zone, where the radiator is on just a little bit. Tu turn it up past that, you must open the valve past that sticky spot... if you open the valve to maximum the place will become like a sauna... so generally the sweet spot on a cold winter day is to open the valve counterclockwise to just past the spot where it sticks. If you have any problems figuring this out give us a holler! Your apartment is not shared. You have a full bathroom and kitchen. We provide toilet paper, kitchen essentials, sheets, towels, and laundry access.
