MCLAY HERITAGE GUEST HOUSE c1895
Built in 1895, this grand Craftsman-style home features beautifully restored character throughout. McLay House was originally a hunting lodge; built around 1895, it was surrounded by cottages to accommodate hunters, who would come to the main house "lodge" for their meals. This home is a beautiful example of the Craftsman style: solid 24” original Douglas fir paneling, high ceilings and so much of the original character throughout. Electric and plumbing have been updated but the original floor plan remains. This house is stunning and we are blessed to live here! Teresa and Jim This is a professional B&B: we share our home with guests year-round and we love it! We will be on hand to greet you when you arrive, we will serve you a full gourmet breakfast and we are happy to assist you with reservations for meals or advice about local attractions. The property is a mixture of urban and rural. It is 3 beautiful acres surrounded by stunning trees and gardens but still within walking distance to town and amenities. Bus service is very accessible as the bus runs to downtown from just in front of our driveway. The bus runs past our home to downtown; the particular route is #5 Eagle Heights. You would be hiring the use of a house with 4 guest rooms, common areas for eating and visiting as well as staff to make your stay most comfortable. Your hosts, Teresa and Jim, live on site but have their own suite so all four bathrooms are for your own use. This is a perfect arrangement for a family or group as it provides both privacy and the ability to visit each other in the living areas of the house. And there are plenty of games & such to enhance your time together. We are happy to coordinate with you for special occasions. If you require other services - photographer, spa/ beauty services, entertainment or catering, we can help put this together.
