The River Perch, riverside cottage in Aberaeron

New: Perched right on the edge of the River Aeron, our recently renovated two-bed former tannery, The River Perch, is in the heart of the stunning harbour town of Aberaeron. Relax to sounds of the river from the private riverside garden or stroll to the harbour, restaurants and beaches- all within a few minutes walk from our cosy cottage. Built in the 1850s and once part of a complex of Victorian industrial buildings on the edge of the River Aeron, this stone building has been adapted many times over the decades. We took the building on in 2019 and have renovated it throughout to create a cosy, characterful, colourful and extremely comfortable one-of-a-kind two bedroom cottage with a riverside courtyard garden. The River Perch is a self-contained and detached cottage. There is one compact parking space available for guest use. We live 4 miles inland at our smallholding and home to our other listings The Dairy Shed (Barn) and The Pig Let (Cabin) we are on hand to help if you need but will leave you to it. The River Perch is tucked away in a peaceful residential area, very private, but right in the centre of the beautiful harbour town of Aberaeron. Everything in the town is within a couple of minutes walking distance so you can eat and drink out at boutique cafes and restaurants, explore the coastal path and beach, stroll around the harbour or even hire electric bikes and take the cycle path to Llanerchaeron National Trust property and gardens. There are a number of stunning beaches a short drive away and all have something different to offer. *Check in on a Friday or Monday for a min of 3 nights. *During holiday periods min 7 night stays are available starting on a Friday. *Maximum 4 guests (including babes in arms) *Only children aged 6 or over or babes in arms allowed due to the log burner and proximity to the river. *The compact second bedroom can be configured as a single, twin or double- these beds are lower than normal. *The double has a memory foam mattress and the twins are sprung medium/firm mattresses. *Internet is provided by 4G home broadband. Good speeds but it is not unlimited bandwidth so please use for surfing and avoid video streaming to ensure all guests benefit. *As the photos show the cottage has characterful low beams in places so do mind your head. *The conservatory is unheated.
