Private bedroom in peaceful shared house

Neat and tidy bedroom available only two streets back from beautiful Lake Illawarra (5 minutes walk), short drive to shops, cinema, restaurants and 15 minutes drive to Wollongong City. Private bedroom available in a house shared with my partner and I - you will be more than welcome in common spaces where we have a coffee machine, garden, washer and dryer, TV and lovely breakfast nook overlooking the garden. Please note: Not an ideal location if you don't have a car. Our house has a beautiful panoramic view of the area and lots of space in the garden. Great spot for anyone wanting a peaceful break on the drive down south or somewhere to stay while enjoying Lake Illawarra. We are an easygoing, relaxed couple and want you to treat this space as if it were your home. PLEASE NOTE: Though we both work, we will be present during your stay. This is a private room in a shared household so you should be comfortable sharing bathroom, kitchen and living room. Strictly the back half of the house (guest bedroom, and common spaces). The front section of the house is our private spaces (bedroom and office). As Lake Heights is so close to the steelworks, this area was largely populated by Greek, Italian and Lebanese migrants after the second world war. You'll see lots of 60's red brick homes, citrus and olive trees and the best burek outside of Lebanon. While it's certainly not a tourist destination, Lake Heights is a nice quiet area if you want to stay slightly out of the city. This is an ideal location if you have a car as everything you need is within 15 minutes. While there is easy public transport to areas such as Warrawong, Unanderra, Dapto and Port Kembla, we recommend booking accommodation in Wollongong CBD if you need regular access to the city or university and don't have a car. The nearest train station is Wollongong, which is 15 minutes drive away. We have very few house rules, and we hope that you will treat this place as your home. You are welcome to enjoy shared spaces including kitchen, laundry, living and dining areas, backyard and shared bathrooms. We only ask that guests do not eat on the couch, or smoke on the property and that water is conserved when showering so we can all enjoy hot water! A note about COVID: Please don't book with us if you've tested positive over the last 7 days. In addition, please do not request to book if you're coming from overseas without going through the appropriate isolation mandates. We won't be accepting your booking if you're coming directly from overseas.
