Quiet Village Home for Perfect Vacation

Lovingly restored house in a small village outside Elounda, five minutes drive from the beach. Quiet and peaceful with great views. The house has two floors and a garden. As it is set on a hillside, the entrance is on the top floor. From street level you go through the gate onto a balcony with a small sitting area. This floor includes a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a dining area, a bedroom with a magnificent view of the valley and a detached, spacious bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. On this floor there are many windows and doors enabling great air flow during summer. An external staircase leads down to the bottom floor and garden. This floor has a bedroom, a communal space and a bathroom, or bath-cave actually, which has a supersized tub which can be used as an indoor pool for kids. Great for hot summer days and the kids just love it. The garden has some fruit trees - lemon, pomegranate, loquat - as well as an olive tree and vine. There is a sitting area and an outdoor shower. The washing machine is in a small space under the stairs. We'd be happy to spend time with our guests, show them around and give them ideas for things to do. Pano Pines is one of the seven villages that constitute Elounda. It is a beautiful place with a rich history, highly regarded by the locals of the region. Its location is perfect, hidden away in a small valley in the mountains just above Elounda town, but only 5 minutes away by car. It's also a short drive to Plaka, historically Pano Pines' fishing port, today a tourist destination and the gateway to Spinalonga island, with its Venetian fortress and uneasy history. Agios Nikolaos, the nearest major town, is just 15 min away. The village itself is quiet, not many people live there and few cars pass by. The locals are friendly and welcoming. The best way to get around is by rental car.
