Lanski Homestay Kandy - Fine Ancestral Home
A fine old Sri Lankan manor house dating from 1860, sympathetically restored by the present occupier over the last 4 years. There are 5 double bedrooms all with en-suite WC/Hot Showers. We have a large garden full of flowers and mature trees, and grow our own organic bananas, mangoes, papayas and avocados in an area of peaceful green natural beauty. We are half-way between Kandy and Matale in a quiet village not far from Sigiriya and Dambulla Heritage sites. You are all most welcome! Tasty traditional Lunches and Dinners can be arranged at a reasonable extra cost. Our cook, Sashi ,is very skilled. Nearby the Aarunya Forest Reserve is a great afternoon visit, and other sorties can be arranged; to Strathisla Tea Estate and Ashburnham Plantation. Kris your Host is available all day, any day. We also have three resident pussycats (Al, Jazz and Zeera) and three doggies: (Butch, Buster and Blanche). Doggies are not allowed inside the house, but the pussycats are. All animals are up to date with all inoculations. We speak English French and Polish. We are near UNESCO Heritage sites Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the painted Rock Temples of Dambulla. The famous Tooth Temple in Kandy and the famous Peradeniya Botanic Gardens are just are just 15 miles from us. We have easy access to Tuk-Tuk taxis and air-conditioned minibus hire, or local PickMe cabs in Matale and Kandy at reasonable cost. One of our dogs, big Butch, is a guard-dog, and is very good at his job. We keep him on a chain when new guests arrive. (He gets long wallks twice a day, however, so no worries)
