AVAILABLE FOR STAYS 14 DAYS OR MORE ONLY. Beautiful renovated modern/contemporary house. You have access to one upstairs bedroom with a queen bed, a separate office upstairs, plus the beautiful and sunny living room and awesome kitchen. House is full of original artwork from Africa, Asia, and also local Detroit artists. Overlooking a canal in the Jefferson Chalmers neighborhood of East Detroit and only 200 yards from the lake. Super easy access to downtown and Grosse Pointe is a block away. This place is unique because everything inside is new. The bed, the bathroom, the incredible kitchen, the floors, and all furniture are from 2017. You are also right on a canal (the only neighborhood in Detroit with canals) with easy access to both suburbs and downtown Detroit. Several neighborhood dive bars and awesome restaurants are super easy to get too. You have access to the driveway to park your car. The is a beautiful back yard with furniture and a great deck. There is WIFI for you, but note that there is no cable TV. There is one ROKU TV where you can only watch streaming channels like NETFLIX and AMAZON PRIME, etc. Are you going to be working while at the house? There is a deisgnated office (not pictured Im working on that, but it's super nice and spacious). You have access to the entire main floor and one bedroom, with a queen bed, one bathroom upstairs and a large private office perfect for teleworking. A second bedroom is locked and not included in the rental. There is a blow up mattress if you happen to need it but the house is best for 1 or 2 people. Access to the door is via a keyboard lock. You will not need a key. The Jefferson–Chalmers Historic Business District (bordering Grosse Pointe) is a historic district located on East Jefferson Avenue between Eastlawn Street and Alter Road in Detroit, Michigan. The district is the only continuously intact commercial district remaining along East Jefferson Avenue, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. The Historic Jefferson–Chalmers Business District is one of a few early twentieth-century neighborhood commercial districts that still survive in Detroit. During the 1920s, this district along Jefferson was the center of the east-side neighborhood's commercial, social, and cultural life. The district is unique in that two big-band era ballrooms, the cultural fulcrums of the early 20th century social scene, still exist within the district: the Monticello and the Vanity Ballroom. You will need a car to stay at this home if you want to travel around at all. The street and neighborhood is not convenient for public transport at all. Uber will be the best bet outside of having your own car. There are tons of great bars and restaurants very close both in Grosse Pointe, and in Detroit. Make sure you go only about 500 yards down the road to check out the view of Canada over the water at Mariner Park. The light house at this park (that you can see in my pictures) marks the place where Lake St. Clair meets the Detroit River. A new 'farm to table' restaurant and bar just opened up as well on the street (Coriander) and you can walk to it in 3 minutes.
