A spacious character filled bungalow in Merewether (Newcastle), just 2 blocks to Merewether Beach with its famous surf break, ocean baths, cafes and bars. Three large bedrooms, a fully fenced yard suitable for kids and pets, large covered front and back verandahs, BBQ and outdoor dining area, fire pit, Netflix and Stan and high speed wifi. Our place is loved by families and groups of friends alike. This character filled bungalow is beautifully presented, light and airy with with separate large front and back covered verandahs to relax any time of day. There is ducted air-conditioning / heating throughout. There are 3 large bedrooms (bedroom 1 - king bed with tv (+Netflix), bedroom 2 - queen bed + baby cot, bedroom 3 - king single + king single trundle bed) - the existing bedding is suitable for 6 people and one baby / toddler using the cot. The house has two bathrooms (1 with a free standing bath + shower +WC, 1 with shower + WC). A laundry with a washer and inside hanging area in case of wet weather. There is off street parking for 1-2 cars (in driveway) + plenty of free and safe on street parking available. The property has an outdoor dining area with BBQ, high speed wifi internet, Netflix (bedroom 1 + lounge) and Stan (bedroom 1). There is a large comfy TV lounge which is separate from the modern kitchen and inside dining area. The fully fenced yard is suitable for kids and pets (by request please). The perfect house for a family beach getaway or a couples / friends weekend away. A perfect house to enjoy this gorgeous city in summer or winter. You will have access to the entire house except for the locked garage. We will be available for any queries during your stay but in most cases unless you need us we will leave you to enjoy your trip. Keys will be available to collect at the house on arrival. Merewether includes some of Newcastle's most famous beaches. Dixon Park Beach leads south onto Merewether Beach and a little further to the more isolated Burwood Beach which leads to Glenrock Lagoon. At the southern end of Merewether Beach are the Merewether Ocean Baths, the largest ocean baths in the Southern Hemisphere. Merewether Beach is home to Merewether SLSC the oldest lifesaving club in the Hunter Region and the Merewether Surfboard Club the most successful boardriders club in Australia. The Merewether Surfhouse includes 2 casual cafes, a restaurant and a casual bar overlooking the magnificent beach. Just 5 minutes drive to the Newcastle CBD and all it has to offer. The perfect place for a family getaway or a weekend away with mates. There is a bus to the Newcastle CBD and Hamilton's busy restaurant strip just 200m from the house. 5-10 minute walk to beach (2 minute drive). 5 minute drive to Newcastle CBD. 2 minute drive to The Junction shopping village. We are a 2 hour drive from Sydney, 45 minute drive to the Hunter Valley wineries and 1 hour drive to Port Stephens. There is a local bakery and newsagent just 200m (quick walk) from the house. There is an IGA supermarket, fruit shop, bottle shop, pizza shop, Chinese takeaway, deli and cafe a 2 minute drive or 10 minute walk away. Merewether Beach + the Beaches Hotel (pub), Merewether Surfhouse (cafes, restaurant + bars) is 2 blocks (a 5 - 10 minute stroll) away. Electric hot water system - is 'off peak' (it heats up overnight only and cannot be changed) - Be mindful of hot water use when larger groups are staying.
