If you're looking for a place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of every day life then this is the ideal property for you. A hidden retreat nestled in an Area of Natural Beauty in the rural village of Great Glemham, perfect for a peaceful holiday or short break, with the picturesque town of Aldeburgh less than ten miles away. Originally a pig sty (hence the rather grander name!) the single storey accommodation sits in the corner of a massive garden which you're welcome to enjoy. You have your own gravelled area with table and chairs encouraging you to simply sit and unwind surrounded by the bird and wildlife. Interiors have been cleverly designed and well equipped to incorporate the bedroom, living space, dining area and kitchen into a light and airy studio room with separate shower room. Walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice with a web of footpaths and network of cycle routes exploring the varied landscape of Suffolk's coast and heaths. Wander along river estuaries, coastal paths, dense forests and through marshlands teaming with birdlife. There's plenty of attractions to discover too, with Framlingham and Orford Castles, Sutton Hoo and Snape Maltings; as well as independent shops; cafes, restaurants, and traditional pubs nearby, particularly the 18th century Inn, The Crown, almost next door. THE STUDIO You’re welcomed directly into the studio, furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, a sofa with elegant coffee table, and the dining table with a couple of chairs. There’s a coat stand and hanging space in a cupboard. Please note that there is no television here but there is free Wifi so you can access the internet through your own devices. A smart linoleum flooring runs throughout with underfloor heating. The kitchen runs along one wall and is equipped with a fridge with freezer compartment, a free-standing Microwave combination fan oven and PowerGrill, a portable single ring electric hob, kettle and toaster. There's also an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. SHOWER ROOM Corner shower cubicle with adjustable hand-held shower, WC, wash basin in a vanity unit. OUTSIDE Pig Palace is in the grounds of Stone House with a gravel drive and plenty of parking for you close to the accommodation. Guests have a good sized private gravelled garden area with seating and are welcome to amble around an acre of peaceful gardens full of trees, borders, and beds heaving with a colourful array of flowers, shrubs and grasses. LOCATION This is a great location for exploring the Suffolk's beautiful coast and countryside with towns of Aldeburgh, Southwold, Framlingham, Saxmundham and Woodbridge close by, and lots of villages with excellent English pubs. The Crown Inn is less than five minutes walk away, a friendly family run free house dating back to the 18th century; well worth a visit at any time of the year with roaring fires in winter, a beautiful cottage garden, boules piste and stone-baked pizza menu. Whilst the accommodation is single storey with hard flooring there is a step up to the front door, and a gravel driveway so it's unlikely to be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
