Alongside the Morialta Conservation Park, on the ridge of the Mt Lofty Ranges, we are a few kilometers up the road from the suburbs in the plains, but ensconced in the hills, just down the road from Norton Summit, Ashton, Uraidla and the other Adelaide Hills communities. There is a local pub at the bottom of our road (5kms), the Tower Hotel at Magill and up the road (3kms), a village pub with a view, the Scenic Hotel at Norton Summit. And many wonderful cafes, pubs and restaurants as you wend further into the Adelaide hills - Ashton, Uraidla, Crafers, Stirling, Aldgate, Bridgewater, Hahndorf. 'Morialta Bend' is also in the Adelaide Hills wine growing region with numerous neighbouring picturesque wineries with associated wine tasting & restaurants. Drive north through the hills to the other wine regions of the Barossa and Clare Valleys. Drive south through Hahndorf to the southern coastal communities of Goolwa, Victor Harbour and the Coorong National Park. Yet five minutes and you’re down the hill and 20 minutes you’re in Adelaide city centre, the Festival theatre and Adelaide Festival and WOMADelaide music festival venues, the Adelaide 500 motor race track and the Adelaide Casino. We are fortunate to have the convenient proximity of the city yet enjoy the hills rural peace, and Australian nature - both flora and fauna. You need a car or motorcycle. While we’re close to the city, we’re off the public transport network. We’re also on one of the most popular cycling routes and if you’re energetic there’s beautiful roads winding through the hills. Of course, it’s also magnificent motorcycling and driving Native guests visit regularly - Kangaroos early mornings and late afternoons, koalas high in the trees, a kookaburra family of five arrive daily, wild ducks, cockatoos, magpies and parakeets.
