Try a holiday with a twist at the “Old Woodville Firestation!” The ground floor unit is entirely yours, self contained, separate entry, 4 rooms allow for sleeping, a queen in main, 2nd bedroom with double + single bunk, entry/study has a double futon, lounge has a sofa bed, renovated well equipped kitchen, bathroom/laundry, wooden floors throughout, large TV in lounge, allocated carpark, 5 min walk to the QEH, on a direct bus route the city, 15 mins from airport, beach or CBD. RC A/C throughout. This heritage listed Firestation was built in the 1930's and spent over 50 years serving the community until the engines outgrew the building. The current resident owners bought it from the fire department and have lived there as their family grew and flew. They have recently renovated part of their residence in the firefighters quarters into self contained areas for your staying pleasure! Come and marvel at the heritage features and massive rooms and take a step back in time with original antique fire hydrant still operational onsite. With 3 reverse cycle air conditioners, washing machine, large stainless steel fridge/freezer, desk, hairdryer and iron, 2 bedrooms the master with a queen the 2nd bed has a double with a single bunk over the top, the lounge has a sofa bed and in addition there is a futon bed in separate sitting room, which converts to a double bed (most comfortable for 2 children sharing or smaller adults) for additional sleeping area and many more features and creature comforts to name. Perfect for families with portacot provided as well as toys for kids of all ages. All linens and towels are provided so all you need to bring is yourselves! Units are on the ground floor sections of the main building. Each of these areas is self contained and has its own bathroom /laundry, kitchen, separate entry and outside access door. Wi fi is available, access code available on request. There is a parking space at the rear of the building allocated to the unit. Guests are asked not to park in front of the roller doors at the rear. We live in the premises and share this rear parking area with our guests. Your friendly host Michelle lives nearby and knows all the best spots in and around Adelaide and is able to assist with anything you may need during your stay. Jill and Mike, the owners, live in the rest of the building. If you find an urgent issue requiring their attention they can be contacted by the bell on the rear gate. With almost every type of take away and cultural cuisine you can imagine within walking distance of your door, convenient dining awaits you at the Firestation! McDonalds, Barnacle Bills and Chickens Plus within a few doors of the property and Woodville road only a short walk which hosts the award winning Vietnamese restaurant NNQ and many more restaurants and take aways Only a short drive to the airport, city and beach, the Firestation is in the perfect location for your next holiday! A short 5 minute walk away is the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for guests requiring easy access. Bus stop located across the road with direct route to the City, Port Adelaide, West Lakes mall and Armada Arndale, both featuring all major shops and boutiques plus a large cinema complex (Reading cinema at West Lakes and Greater Union at Arndale). Bus comes approx every 10-15 mins. Woodville railway station is 10 minutes walk and is an express station to the city. Metro tickets are available at the IGA supermarket open 8am - 9pm 7 days just 5 minutes walk. A short 5 min walk to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for guests who are day patients or coming in to visit relatives or friends who have been admitted. Located a short walk from a wide range of cultural cuisines, eating in or eating out, with a direct bus route just across the road to the City, Port Adelaide and two major shopping malls. As the unit is under the main roof of the building and we have vulnerable residents in other areas unfortunately it is not suitable for travellers needing to quarantine but we would love to welcome you after your quarantine is complete!
