Lazy Feather Cottage

Our beautiful cottage is nestled in the woods just a few minutes from the ferry dock and town of LaPointe. Clean and comfortable with new flooring, an updated bathroom, a well equipped kitchen. and cozy bedding make our home stand out among the inland rental properties. We are just minutes from public beaches and within a mile from the Yacht Club and Robert Trent Jones designed Golf Course. Please note: a signed rental contract and add'l 6.5% accommodation tax is required prior to check-in. This is a fabulous space for either a cozy couples get-away or for families with children! The first floor features a great living room, a clean and well-equipped kitchen and a dining area with beautiful views of the woods out the picture windows. There is a newly updated 3/4 bath, laundry and a bedroom with a desk and queen size bed. The screen porch off the dining area is a wonderful place to relax. Behind the house is a patio with built in fire-pit and an enclosed outdoor shower. Upstairs there is the master bedroom with queen size bed and balcony overlooking the woods. There is a gorgeous full bathroom with clawfoot bathtub and separate shower, a 2nd bedroom with a queen size bed, and a 3rd room with two twin beds and a double futon bed. Our cottage is best suited for no more than 6 adults and 2-4 (younger) children. The cottage is available year round and has in-floor heat on both levels. Kitchen equipped with Quality pots & pans Full size gas stove and oven Charcoal Weber bbq grill Toaster oven Crockpot Blender Guests have full access to the property and home, excluding the attached garage. I am available via text or phone call during your stay, however I do not live on the property. Madeline hosts a number of restaurants, bars, art galleries, and a wonderful history museum in "town". There are numerous hiking trails both in town and out at the Big Bay State or Town Parks. Interested in running or rollerblading or open water swim? Madeline hosts a marathon/half-marathon in May, a rollerblade marathon in June, and a point to LaPointe swim in early August. Once you arrive on Madeline, you can rent bikes or scooters to take in the sites on land or even check out the local speedboat, kayak or SUP rentals to explore the water! There is a 9 hole Robert Trent Jones golf course just around the corner from the cottage. Madeline Island has beautiful beaches, and the Lazy Feather is just a mile from the public access to Grants Point Beach and Joni's Beach in town. Big Bay Beach is accessible from either the State Park (entrance fee) or the Town Park, both of which are 6+ miles out of town. Note: An additional 6.5% town of LaPointe accommodations tax is not charged by Airbnb, and will need to be collected prior to check in. This tax can be paid to the owners via credit card or check at least 7 days prior to check-in. Information on this additional tax and a complete rental contract document will be sent to you once your reservation is confirmed.
