Come have a homestay experience with a local family at the Dondra - most southern point in Sri Lanka. The ocean is just 7 meters from the house, and you can watch both sunrise and sunset. The area is not a tourist destination, so you will get a genuine local experience. The rooms are newly renovated with comfortable beds and soft lighting. You can enjoy airy. You can even watch sunrise from your bed. There is a detached, new bathroom. We have a washing machine available for guests and WiFi. The Homestay Experience My family and I are happy to host you. My children will love your company and be eager to improve their English if you would like to help. Families are welcome to come stay. There is local life and nature to enjoy. In the morning I feed big eels in the shallows. You can also see peacocks, porcupines, wild cats, monkeys, and parrots. Delicious, Home-cooked Food And Relaxing Massage Right On The Beach! Monogi is a professionally trained cook, and can make traditional Sri Lankan meals for you. You can even have a romantic dinner on the beach with candles, a view of the tallest lighthouse in Sri Lanka, and the sound of the waves on the rocks. Dinner is 1250 rupees per person. Lunch is 800 rupees per person. Breakfast is 400 rupees per person. There are also restaurants and street carts within walking distance. You can also book relaxing massages right on the beach! Enjoy the view of the ocean and the sound of its waves during a massage! At the beach behind the house you can snorkel and are welcome to borrow our snorkel gear for free. There are shallow, tidal pools in the rocks where you can relax with a drink or cool off on a hot day. Climb the rocks for the perfect view of sunset. Sometimes you can even spot whales off-shore. Within 5 minutes walking distance, there is a beach for swimming. There is a surf spot 10 minutes away by moterbike or tuk tuk. In town there is a Buddha temple to visit where you can feed the elephant. Our village has the tallest light house in Sri Lanka (buy a ticket in Colombo if you want to walk to the top).
